Description

AIR CLEANER
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an air cleaner for purifying room air, in partiecclar to an air cleaner that enhances functions of purifying and humidifying air and adds functions for sterilizing and perfuming air.
Background Art
In general, many devices for purifying air in rooms have heen known, and they are generally classified into two groups, one for dry type cleaners and the other for wet type cleaners.
The dry air cleaners include anion air cleaners, which simply romoves dust and cigarette smoke with no function of moisturizing air.
Thus, an air cleaner is preferred to be a wet type including a function of humidifying air. However, the knowri wet type air cleaners are only to filter dust out of air to the effect of low efficiency.
According to the prior art, an air cleaner under Korea patent no. 10-1999-046485 has a structire for its motored fan to simply blow the sucked air over water in a vessel to trap particles from air which is then blown out. But the cleaner is still low in efficiency. And this cleaner employs an electrically charged plate to attract dust electrically in to water, also to a low efficiency of air purification. Besides, manual replacement of water is also inconvenient and troublesome to a problem. Disclosure of the Invention
An object of the present invention is to_., provide an air cleaner which is excellent in the performance of purifying and humidifying air and has a sterilizing function and a perfuming function.
Another object is to provide an air cleaner which is to automatically replenish water and is used as a cooling fan as needed.
To achieve the above object, the air cleaner of the present invention, having a suction grill and a discharge grill provided a on the main body, air suction fans installed on the inner upper part to blow air fron the outer side to water filled in a tank to remove pollutants an humidify air, and an electrification circuit which is applied with electric energy to apply positive charge to a ground member which in contact with water causes the water in the tank to have negative charge to trap electrically charged pollutants, further includes '■ many negative charging pins which are installed above the water surface to keep a spacing from one another and receive the application of negative charge from the electrification circuit to cause the pollutants to have negative charge ; an electrification roller which rotates, adjacent to negative charge pins, with the above positive charged tank water on the surface to cause negative charged pollutants to be attracted to the positive charged water for adsorption in it and cause the adsorbed pollutant to be washed off by the tank water.
In order to perfume cleaned air removed of polliutants for discharge, the air cleaner is provided with a scent generator installed in the main body and with a sterilizing unit including of charcoal and granitephorphyry to purify and sterilize the tank water.
Further, a heater is provided to heat the tank water and increase the amount of evaporation.

Embodiment 1
Referring to the drawings of embodiments attached hereto, the invention shall he described in details as follows.
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an air cleaner in acordance with the invention, and Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section of an air cleaner in acordance with the embodiment 1. Referring to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, an air cleaner of the invention comprises a main body (10), a suction grill (11) provided on the upper part of the body(lθ), a discharge grill(12) installed on the side of the body (10), suction fans (13) installed on the inner upper part of the body (10) to suck outer air in through the grill(ll). Under the suction fans(13) is provided a water tank(4) to be filled with water(w).
The tank water(w) evaporates for humidification to be replenished, such that a replenishing water tank (15) is installed detachably on a side of the main body(lθ), which is provided with an electrification circuit(lβ) on the inner side to receive electric energy. Also, a ground member(17), which is arranged to apply a positive charge from the circuit(16) to the water(W), is installed to be in connection with the tank water(w) which is to have positive charge.
Further, nagative electrification pins(18) are installed above the tank water(W) to keep a spacing from one another and arranged to be applied with negative electricity from the eleclrification circuit to have negative charge. Thesfore, the negative electrification pins(18) are to have negative charge from the electrification circuit(16) while the tank water(W) is to have positive charge.
And an eletrification roller(19) is installed between the negative electrification pins(18) and the tank water(W) to be rotated by a moter(20).
Referring to Fig. 3, the roller(19) is to have a coating of a water absorptive material(19a) on its outer surface, and is to rotate while keeping a part of the water absorptive material (19a) steeped in the tank water(w). Thus, the positive charged tank water(w) adhering to the absorptive material(19a) in rotation comes near the negative charged pins (18), Raesultingly. pollutants (k), such as dust having negative charge due to the negative charge pins(18), are attracted to the water absorptive material(19a) of the roller(19) having positive charged water which in turn traps the negative charged pollutants to be washed off with the tank water(w) when steeped in water in further rotation. On the other hand, the main body (10) has a scent generator (21) to perfume the cleaned air removed of pollutants (k) to be discharged into room, a scent generator(21) employs a perfume source containing various perfumes including acacia scent.
Also, to purify and sterilize the tank water(W), a sterilizing unit(22) including charcoal and granitephorphyry is installed in a water tank(14) to be immersed in the water(w), And a heater(23) is installed in the tank(14) to heat the water(w) in the tank to increase evaporation of the tank water (w).
According to the invention, when a switch(24) shown in Fig. 1 is manipulated for operation, the suction fans(13) and the electrification circuit(16) start to operate and the roller(19) simultaneously rotates. The heater(23) operates, as needed, under a separate manipulation of the switch(24).
The air the fan sucked from the outer side is blown over the tank water for the pollutants like dust and harmful gas, to hit the water to get trapped for removal from the air.
However, the removal of pollutants by fanning is still very poor in amount, because all the outer air blown by the fan to water can not come into contact with water to remove pollutants before discharging. And although it is possible to make the whole air blown by the fan come into contact with the surface of water, doing so requires the main body (10) to be too bulky to produce economically to the effect of having no worth for the production. The present invention is provided with an eleclrification roller(19) and a number of negative charged pins(18) to be able to remove pollutants (k) in a large amount.
The roller(19) rotates in a slate of keeping the bottom part placed in the tank water to have water(w) adhering to the water absorptive part(19a) in rotation. The positive charged water adhering to the surface of the roller(19) moves upward following the rotation of the roller(19) to come close to the negative charged pins(18).
Whereas, the pollutants(k) contained in the air surrounding the pins(18) come to have negative change. Therefoe, the negative charged pollntants around the pins(18)(k) are attracted into the positive charged water on the surface of the roller(19). Following the rotation of the roller(19). the pollutants(k) sticking to the roller(19) move down to be placed in the water(W). The first purified air comes into contact with the water(W) adhering to the roller(19) to be second purified and discharged through the grill(12) into room to maintain clean purified air for the room.
Even with the introduction of the pollutants (k), the tank water(W) is still to keep the clean state with the sterilizing unit(22), and the air passing through the inner side of the main body(lθ) is also sterilized with the unit(22) for clean air.
The discharging purified air is added with a perfume from the scent generator(21) to have refreshing frageance. When not operating the heater(23), humidification proceeds naturally according to the degree of humidity in the room to be large in amount when dry and to be small when high in hunidity. When to raise humidification, the operation of the heater(23) heats the water(W) to raise the amount of evaporation to the effect of increased humidification. Besides, accorting to the invention, the air cleaner is arranged to store ice in lumps within the water tank in summer for the fans to be used as cooling fans for the air conditioning of room.
Embodiment 2
Fig. 4-6 shows the embodiment 2 of the electrification rollor(19) in accordance with the invention.
The electrification roller (19) of the embodiment 2 has on its periphery a number of ringed wings of thin blade(19b) arranged round the roller in narrow gap spacings(19c) for filling water.
The electrification roller(19) having the blade wings(19b) is to rotate in the state of keeping the bottom part placed in the water(w).
Therefore, as shown in Fig. 6, the spacing gaps(19c) between blade wings (19b) are filled with water(W') of the tank, the water being kept in the gaps(19c) by the action of suface tension and having positive charge to attract nearby pollntants (k) negatively charged by the pins (18) into the water in the gaps for trapping. And the trapped pollntants (k) in the water(W) rotates with the roller(19) to come down to be steeped in water(W) for wasting off the ro!ler(19) with further rotation.
Embodiment 3
Fig. 7 shows the embodiment 3, which rotatably installs a number of eletrification elements(19c) in place of the roller(19) in the embodiments shown in Fig. 1 and 2 for the elements (19c) in rotation to have the bottom part steeped in the water(W) and the top part placed close to the pins(18).
The elements (19c) may be rotated by the power of a moter(20) or by the force of wind blown by the fans(13), with water(w) adhering to the surface of the elements.
The water (w) on the surface of the elements (19c) is to have positive charge in rotation, and come close to the pins(18) when moving upward.
On the other hand, the pollutants (K) contained in the air surrounding the negative charge pins (18) come to have negative charge.
Therefore, the negative charged pollutants (K) are attracted to the positive charged water adhering to the surface of the elements(19c) to be trapped. The pollutants (k) trapped at the upper side of the elements(19c) move down following the rotation of the elements(19c) to be washed off in the tank water(w).
The outer air sucked by the fans(13) is to pass through the spacing gaps between the closely arranged elements(19c) to make contact with the surface of the tank water(W) to be removed of pollutants caught in the water before discharging through the grill(12) into room for supply of clean air.
