Under the action of an external high voltage, electrons emitted from the surface or the vicinity of the metal wire of the negative electrode rapidly move to the positive electrode, collide with gas molecules and are ionized, and when dust in the air passes through the high-voltage electric field, the dust captures the gas ions due to collision in a very short time to cause charge and moves to the positive electrode integrated plate under the action of electric field force, so that the separation effect is achieved.
