Abstract

Un ensemble d'éléments est tracé sur des axes x et y aux fins de production d'un graphique. De manière à visionner une zone de l'affichage revêtant un intérêt particulier pour un utilisateur, celui-ci clique sur le pointeur de la souris afin de le placer au niveau d'un point situé sur l'axe x ce qui provoque l'affichage d'une ligne verticale du curseur (cf. figure). Le déplacement de la souris vers la gauche ou la droite provoque le tracé d'une seconde ligne verticale de curseur, le long de l'axe x, aux fins de sélection d'une section à afficher plus en détail. L'affichage est ensuite refait, l'axe x étant remis à l'échelle de la section choisie. Au même moment, l'axe y est remis à l'échelle de manière qu'il comprenne tous les éléments situés dans la section choisie, plus une petite marge de 5 %, supérieure et inférieure aux valeurs maximales et minimales de y. L'affichage peut être remis à l'échelle un nombre de fois illimité, les paramètres de chaque agrandissement étant stockés dans la mémoire, de façon que tout agrandissement puisse être défait, par appui sur le bouton de droite de la souris. En cliquant sur un bouton 'vers le haut', l'utilisateur peut ajouter 10 % à la marge, au niveau du sommet de l'affichage, et en cliquant sur le bouton ''vers le bas', il peut ajouter 10 % au bas de l'affichage.
