Abstract

The invention relates to a sound absorber for compressors. The inventive sound absorber is particularly suitable for being directly placed upon the pressure outlet of a screw compressor. Said sound absorber has a housing (1) which has a flat box-type design. The housing comprises an inlet (9) in the bottom wall (3) and an outlet (11) in the cover wall (5). A dividing wall (15) that extends between the bottom wall (3) and the cover wall (5) divides the housing into a lower inlet chamber (17) and an upper outlet chamber (19). A passage area (21) that is laterally offset in relation to the inlet (9) and the outlet (11) and pertains to the dividing wall (15) has numerous small openings. The sum of the average cross-sections of the openings is equal to or greater than the opening cross-section of the inlet (9). The compressed air flows in parallel in relation to the dividing wall (15) and through the flat inlet and outlet chambers when flowing from the inlet (9) to the outlet (11). Claims

Patentansprüche claims
1.
