Description

The present invention relates to a device for recovering products, in particular hydrocarbons or pollutants of the same kind, which float on the sea, a lake, a basin or other liquid support.
Apparatuses are already known which comprise a mobile element in rotation, the lower part of which is immersed in a liquid mass which is to be rid of the products floating on its surface, from the most liquid to the most viscous, and whose emerging upper part, responsible for the recovered product, rubs a scraping member (see in particular document US-A-3,358,838). The active surface of the mobile element is chosen to be wettable by the supernatant which it is desired to recover, and when this mobile element rotates in the mass of liquid to be treated, its active surface is charged with said product to be recovered. In the upper part, the scraper member ensures the recovery and evacuation of this product to storage means.
The general structure of these devices, and in particular the structure of the mobile element or elements used (drum, disc, cone, etc.) does not ensure optimum recovery performance; the present invention aims precisely to improve this yield from one or more mobile elements recuperators of simple structure.
The apparatus which is the subject of the present invention is of the type described above and it is characterized in that at least part of the active surface of the mobile recovery member (s) is in the form of a spherical or spheroid sector, the scraping member consisting of a strip of material shaped to follow the curved contour of said active surface.
The active surface of said recovery member (s) is preferably in the form of a spherical or spheroidal sector, or in the form of an ellipsoidal sector. According to preferred embodiments, the mobile recuperator (s) consist of two spherical or ellipsoidal segments joined by their large base. The presence of a curved active part in axial section makes it possible to improve the recovery of the supernatant on the body of water. In particular, this shape of the active part makes it possible to optimize the action of a plurality of recuperating elements juxtaposed on the drive shaft. The invention will be further illustrated, without being in any way limited, by the following description of several particular embodiments, given solely by way of examples and represented in the appended drawings in which:
- la figure 1 est une vue schématique en coupe transversale d'une forme de réalisation possible d'un appareil conforme à la présente invention, illustrant le principe de récupération du produit flottant sur la nappe d'eau ;- Figure 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a possible embodiment of an apparatus according to the present invention, illustrating the principle of recovery of the product floating on the water table;
- la figure 2 est une vue partielle de l'appareil illustré sur la figure 1 , en coupe axiale selon 2-2 ;- Figure 2 is a partial view of the apparatus illustrated in Figure 1, in axial section along 2-2;
- la figure 3 est une vue partielle de l'appareil illustré sur la figure 1 , en coupe axiale selon 3-3 ;- Figure 3 is a partial view of the apparatus illustrated in Figure 1, in axial section along 3-3;
- les figures 4 à 8 illustrent d'autres formes de réalisation possible de l'organe récupérateur conforme à la présente invention.- Figures 4 to 8 illustrate other possible embodiments of the recovery member according to the present invention.
As shown in block diagram in Figures 1 to 3, the recovery device according to the present invention comprises a motorized shaft 1 arranged horizontally above the body of water 2 to be treated, and on which are threaded a plurality of recovery members 3, of generally circular shape, separated from each other by spacers 4.
The lower part of the recovery members 3, under the shaft 1, is immersed in the body of water 2. Above the body of water 2, for example at the axis 1, or just below this axis, a scraping member 5 comes into contact with the active surface 6 of the recuperating members 3, that is to say with their surface capable of coming into contact with the body of water to be treated. This scraping member 5 may consist of a flat rubber band 7, or other, of suitable rigidity, fixed to a support sheet 8 for example by means of rivets. The scraping strip 7 is cut or shaped into concave segments to follow the outline of the recovery members 3.
L'organe de raclage 5 assure la reprise de ce produit qui est dirigé vers un bac de stockage 10.In operation, the recovery members 3 are rotated in the direction of the arrow 9 (FIG. 1) and their active surface drives part of the product to be recovered which floats on the body of water 2. The scraper member 5 ensures the recovery of this product which is directed to a storage bin 10.
The nature of the external surface of the recovery members 3 is chosen so as to optimize the recovery of the product in the body of water 2; the material used (preferably plastic) must be properly wettable by the product to be recovered and at the same time have little affinity with water.
The two ends of the horizontal shaft 1 are carried by a chassis by means of bearings (not shown), and one of these ends is subject to drive means, also not shown. The sheet 8 is fixed laterally on the chassis of the device. The assembly can be mounted on floats or be fixed directly on a boat.
As shown in Figure 1, the device can consist of two recovery sets arranged in parallel.
The recovery of the product floating on the body of water 2 is optimized by the special shape of the recovery elements 3, and in particular by the fact that at least part of their active surface 6 is curved in axial section. The presence of this curved surface improves the entrainment of the product.
As shown in the embodiments of Figures 1 to 3, each recuperator element 3 is in the form of an ellipsoid, here consisting of two segments 3 'and 3 "joined by their large base. axial section, the active surface 6 in contact with the body of water 2 corresponds to an ellipse segment.
In an alternative embodiment, the recuperator elements 3 can be in the form of a simple spheroid or ellipsoidal segment, of the kind of those represented in FIGS. 4 and 5, intended to be threaded on the axis 1 one after the other, in the same direction, separated by spacers. Note that the recuperator element illustrated in Figure 5 is in the form of a hollow structure while those shown in Figures 1 to 4 are full.
According to another variant embodiment, the recovery element or elements are in the form of spherical segments, in the form of a sphere, or in the form of two spherical segments joined together by their large base. Figure 6 shows in particular a recuperator element 3 which has the general shape of a hemisphere; the dotted line 12 shows that it could simply be a segment of a sphere.
Selon encore une autre possibilité, le ou les éléments récupérateurs peuvent être en forme de parabole (figure 7) ; leur section axiale peut aussi avoir la forme générale d'un oméga, ou de deux omégas accolés par leur grande baseAccording to yet another possibility, the recovery element or elements can be in the form of a parabola (FIG. 7); their axial section can also have the general shape of an omega, or of two omegas joined by their large base
(figure 8).(figure 8).
These different forms of recovery members are preferably made of molded plastic. In all cases, the active surface of the recovery elements advantageously comprises grooves, ridges, grooves, bosses or the like, adapted to facilitate and optimize the recovery of the supernatant.
On the other hand, depending on the needs and in particular depending on the characteristics of the product that it is desired to recover, the apparatus according to the invention may include means for heating the active part of the recovery elements, so as to fluidify this product and facilitate its recovery.
