Abstract

The invention describes a method for the production of an absorbent bandage for a wound and an absorbent bandage for a wound used for a treatment of purulent postoperative slowly healing wounds. The high hygroscopicity of the bandage prevents absorption of toxic matter into the blood and contributes to shorten the duration of a treatment. The absorbent bandage for a wound is based on activated and carbonized fabrics and is produced by a method consisting in an impregnating an initial viscose fabric with a polysiloxane, the drying thereof, carbonization in an inert atmosphere with a heating temperature of 180 ° C to 600 ° C and activation by steam at a temperature of up to 930 ° C with subsequent cooling. Before carbonization the fabric undergoes a relaxation at 150 ° C and a deformation of up to -10 %. The obtained material dried and activated by the carbon is subsequently crushed impregnated with latex, dried and cut in accordance with the marking lines for producing the bandages.
