Abstract

Un procédé de découpage d'acier consiste à chauffer une partie de l'acier jusqu'à ce qu'il soit en fusion, à positionner un chalumeau de découpage afin qu'il ait un angle d'incidence élevé par rapport à l'acier en fusion, et à souffler de l'oxygène sous haute pression sur le métal en fusion. Le souffle de l'oxygène sous haute pression chauffe davantage le métal en fusion et éloigne par soufflage le métal en fusion de l'acier pour créer une tranchée de découpe. Le chalumeau de découpage est alors déplacé, d'une manière générale, parallèlement à la tranchée de découpe afin de prolonger la coupe. Le dispositif de découpage accéléré de métal destiné à la mise en application du procédé de découpage comprend un chalumeau de découpage émettant un gaz combustible sous haute pression et un gaz d'amélioration de combustion sous haute pression. Le chalumeau dirige les gaz sous haute pression sur l'acier de manière que les gaz soient incidents sur l'acier à un angle d'attaque aigu. Un dispositif automatique propulse le chalumeau dans le sens général de la coupe voulue. Le produit métallique coupé obtenu présente au moins un bord ayant un type de grain non perpendiculaire au sens de la coupe.
