Abstract

The new internal combustion engine called the Internal Combustion Engine with Circularly Arranged Cylinders and Pistons is cylindrical in form (6). The cylinders (2) with pistons (4) are positioned circumferentially. Positioned between two cylinder pairs is the engine head (3) with suction and exhaust valves and sparking plug for igniting the fuel mixture. The pistons transmit the force to radial piston rods, and further to axial rods (5). Over the connecting rod (9), gear (8) and gear (7) the force is transmitted to the central shaft and then further to the transmission.

Description

01/23712
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH CIRCULARLY ARRANGED CYLINDERS AND PISTONS
1) TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention referred to is a new engine design for petrol and Diesel engines for road, water and air transport vehicles According to the International Patent Classification it is classified as
2) TECHNICAL PROBLEM
All conventional vehicle engines are rather clumsy, they have their weight and cubic capacity As the result they take up useful space and set high requirements in vehicle design in terms of enforcement of particular vehicle parts Also additional energy is required for driving its own mass (weight)
3) DESCRIPTION OF THE CONVENTIONAL ENGINES
The most common automobile design today is with the engine mounted in the front part of the vehicle as shown in the picture Other combinations include engines mounted in the rear part of the vehicle, the front wheel drive or rear wheel drive, etc , depending on the designer teams of different car manufacturers Then appeared petrol, gas, and diesel - driven engines with 2, 4, 6 cylinders and the like The engine theory and praxis is highly developed
4) DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW DESIGN
The new design gives the engine middle a flat - lying position in the vehicle where all vital engine segments are located and where all known energy-generating processes take place Secondary units such as transmission, clutch, generator unit and the like are mounted outside the engine unit ADVANTAGES
The vehicle centre of gravity is located lower Additional useful space is created Possibility of reducing the vehicle length
IMPROVED PERFORMANCE
Elegant design of injection engine
Increased moment of forces and more rapid acceleration
Extremely economical explosion area
Longer life of vital movable parts
5) BACKGROUND ART
Drawings shown in figures 1 to 6, forming an integral part of the invention disclosure, provide an illustrative explanation of the basic principles behind the innovation.

Figure 5 - Plan view of the radial piston rod with axial rod
Figure 6 - Diagrammatic drawing of the "BRANO ENGINE"
Figure 7 - Illustration of a new technical solution for an engine design with two parallel cylinders 6) DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
The housing (1), which has the form of a round cylinder, measures a certain length in diameter and is of certain height Peripherally, at a certain diameter, is a cylinder (2) of a certain diameter In this cylinder there are 4 pairs i e 8 pistons (4) with the diameter adapted to the cylinder The technical name of this engine could be "the Eight-Cylinder Radial Engine"
The Pistons (4) are tied to the radial piston rod (5) in pairs of two, with the piston rod tied to axial, diametrical engine bars (5) running through the middle of the engine (cylinder) Connected by means of these engine bars in the entire transmission (membranes, gears, gear shaft, clutch and the entire transmission mechanism) In terms of technical design, the engine actually represents a cylinder consisting of 12 segments in form of 12 circular segments with a 30° angle, certain length of the edge and a certain height
Principle of operation The pistons in the radial cylinder move toward each other in a symmetrical pair while at the same time the remaining two pairs move away from each other Thus the suction and exhaust cycle i e the cycle of compression and explosion is made possible All known processes, opening or closing of valves, spark ignition, etc are not mentioned here but are taken as known quantities The fuel, for example petrol, is mixed with air in a ratio already known in conventional engines The same is true of diesel engines and the like
7) AREA OF APPLICATION
This invention refers to an extremely useful new engine design that in comparison to conventional engines features a whole series of innovations It is applicable in all conventional means of transport, by road, water or air The said advantages make this engine more cost - effective both in production and use

Claims

_r
1 The new internal - combustion engine with all known values in regard to the use of fuel mixture, use of all four strokes, generating and transmission of power, that is shown in a completely changed form, is characterised by cylinders and engine heads that are arranged in a circle, with pistons suited in form to the shape and radius of the cylinder Over the radial piston rod the pistons transmit force to the axial rods whence it is further transmitted to the connecting rods and two pairs of smaller gears that transmit the force to a larger gear and over the central shaft further to the whole transmission
2 According to Claim 1, the new engine is characterised by the fact that the engine housing is a circular cylinder, that is 8 cylinders and 4 engine heads as circular sectors that form a full circle
3 According to Claims 1 and 2, the new engine is characterised by the fact that the engine cylinder is actually a circular sector whose radius corresponds to the engine diameter
4 According to Claims 1 and 2, the new engine is characterised by the engine head that is adjusted to the engine diameter, so that the eight cylinders and the four engine heads form a full circle being circumferentially positioned
5 According to Claims 1 and 2, the new engine is characterised by the fact that the engine piston is a roller that is concractively turned in the middle and is adjusted to the radius of the engine and cylinder within which it moves
6 According to Claims 1 and 2, the new engine is characterised by the fact that the radial piston rods that connect pistons in two adjacent cylinders are linked to the axial rod over the middle section of the engine
7 According to Claims 1 and 2, the new engine is characterised by the fact that other technical designs with the different number of cylinders and different cylinder position are possible, for instance two or more parallel cylinders
