This would greatly reduce the utility of multi- mode devices, given the established expectation of being able to use most of their functionality's in aircraft.

This may be done by building time constants of operation into the processor software so that switch operation across contacts 16, in the processor is effected only in response to rapid pressure changes associated with take off and perhaps landing. It will be appreciated that as with the switch 9, of Figure 2, the contacts 16, may be connected in parallel with or instead of the contacts 5 of Figure 1.

Abstract

Appareil électronique portable qui comporte un boîtier ou enveloppe (1) contenant un équipement multimode (2) et un émetteur alimentés en électricité par une source de puissance (3) sous forme de batterie, par l'intermédiaire d'un commutateur (4) à fiche (6) et à prise femelle. Le commutateur (4) comporte deux parties, à savoir deux contacts normalement fermés (5) et une fiche (6) qui ouvre les contacts, effectuant ainsi la commutation lorsqu'elle est introduite dans une ouverture (7) d'accès au commutateur. Ladite fiche empêche ainsi l'émission non autorisée par l'émetteur. Ledit appareil est également doté d'un tableau de commande (8) qui permet, entre autres, l'opération de commutation normale marche/arrêt, mais qui n'empêche pas les opérations de communication multimode autonomes.
