Abstract

The invention relates to a method for thermally modifying coating materials which are electrically at least semiconductive. According to said method, the coating materials in solid form are subjected to an electromagnetic alternating field which causes thermal modification as a result of their inductive heating. The invention also relates to an object with a coating consisting of a material which is electrically at least semiconductive, deposited on a base body which can only be slightly heated by eddy-current induction. The base body consists of a material which is, in particular, dimensionally stable and which remains unmodified only up to a predetermined temperature and the coating material has characteristics which enable it to be modified by being heated to a temperature which lies below said predetermined temperature.
