Definitions
- the invention relates to a rinsable, gel-shaped hair conditioner containing hair-care silicones and encapsulated fragrances or active ingredients.
- the usual hair conditioning preparations to be rinsed out again after use are generally formulated on the basis of aqueous emulsions.
- Essential ingredients are cationic substances such as cationic surfactants, hydrophobic substances such as e.g. Fatty alcohols and other oil components, emulsifiers, and other specific active ingredients and fragrances.
- the main tasks of the conditioning agents are to improve the manageability, the combability, the shine and the feel of the treated hair. Due to the emulsifier content, irritation of the scalp can occur in individual cases, especially with sensitive skin. It is therefore desirable to have products that can do without emulsifiers without significantly impairing the product performance expected for hair conditioners.
- the choice of active substances and fragrances is limited to those which are compatible with the rest of the composition, which are stable to oxidation and hydrolysis and which are not too volatile unless they are used in an encapsulated form. When using encapsulated active ingredients, it is desirable that they do not settle in the formulation and that they are visible from the outside if possible. That presupposes that the
- Composition is clear, translucent or at least translucent. This is not the case with conventional, normally milky white O / W hair treatment emulsions.
- the task was therefore to provide an agent which meets the typical hair conditioning requirements for hair conditioning, can essentially do without emulsifiers and which also uses incompatible, unstable or volatile active substances and fragrances can be.
- Another object was to provide a hair treatment composition with a special fragrance effect, the fragrance effect being that fragrances are only released to a greater extent when the composition is used.
- the agent should be in a visually appealing form.
- the invention relates to a hair conditioning agent in the form of a clear, transparent, translucent or opaque gel containing
- capsules preferably microcapsules, with fragrance or active ingredients included therein
- C at least one hair-care, water-insoluble, silicone oil dispersed in the aqueous phase
- the agent is preferably substantially free of emulsifiers, i.e. it either contains no emulsifiers or only to such a reduced extent that no irritation takes place even on sensitive, sensitive skin and no fine, milky, cloudy and thus opaque emulsion forms.
- the agent is at least sufficiently transparent or translucent that the capsules contained inside the agent are visually recognizable. Therefore, the agent is advantageously also filled into an optically appealing packaging made of transparent or translucent material, through which the capsules contained in the composition are visually recognizable.
- Particularly suitable thickeners are polymers which impart plastic or pseudoplastic behavior to the composition.
- the rheological flow behavior of the gel according to the invention is characterized by the existence of a flow limit, which is preferably at least 3 Pascals, measured with a Haake RV 12 viscometer, PKV-0.5 measuring system at 30 ° C. and with a linearly increasing shear rate from 0 to 100 s " 1st It is a hair conditioning agent that best fulfills the typical requirements with regard to conditioning effect. After the treatment, the hair is noticeably smoother both when wet and dry, and wet combability is noticeably improved.
- the agent is in an optically appealing, stable dispersed form, which enables packaging in a transparent container, for example made of glass or transparent plastic, for example polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate.
- the capsules are stably dispersed and do not settle even after long storage. Therefore, the agent for redispersing the capsules need not be shaken before use.
- Another advantage of the gel according to the invention is that if the capsules contain fragrances or perfume oils, a special, intensified fragrance effect results when used. Since the agent can advantageously also be formulated essentially free of emulsifiers, it is also particularly skin-friendly.
- the gel preferably has a viscosity which can be measured after the flow limit has been exceeded, from 1,000 to 100,000 mPas, preferably from 5,000 to 50,000 at 25 ° C., measured with a Haake VT 501 rotary viscometer at a shear rate of 12.9 per second.
- the gel is characterized in that it has a yield point.
- the yield point is chosen depending on the weight and surface area of the capsules used so that it is at least as large as the pressure exerted by the capsules. This prevents the capsules from sinking.
- the yield point causes coalescence of the dispersed Prevents silicone phase, which can otherwise occur in particular in the preferred emulsifier-free embodiment.
- the thickeners are preferably present in an amount of 0.05 to 10, particularly preferably 0.1 to 4 percent by weight. The respective optimal concentration is selected depending on the type of thickener and the weight of the capsules. Suitable thickeners are cross-linked or non-cross-linked polyacrylic acid or polymethacrylic acid. Of the thickeners that can be contained in the agent according to the invention, homopolymers of acrylic acid with a molecular weight of 2,000,000 to 6,000,000 are mentioned, which are sold, for example, by BF Goodrich / USA under the trade name Carbopol Thickener, the agent according to the invention can contain an acrylic acid homopolymer with a molecular weight of 4,000,000, which is sold, for example, by BF Goodrich under the trade name Carbopol 940.
- thickeners are, for example, the acrylic acid homopolymer sold by BF Goodrich under the trade name Carbopol ® ETD 2001 or by Protex / France under the trade name Modarez V 600 PX, and by Hoechst / Germany under the trade name Hostacerin PN 73 polymer sold from acrylic acid and acrylamide with a molecular weight of 2,000,000 to 6,000,000 and the sclerotium gum sold by the company Alban Muller, Montreuil / France under the trade name Amigel.
- the copolymers of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid are particularly preferred, as are, for example, under the trade name Carbopol ® 1342 or Pemulen ® TR1 from GOODRICH, USA.
- Other suitable thickeners are guar gum, xanthan gum, bentonite and hectorite.
- thickeners which do not give the composition a sufficient flow limit in the viscosity range typical for gels can also be present.
- Such thickeners are in particular celluloses and cellulose derivatives such as e.g. Carboxymethyl cellulose, cellulose ether and hydroxyalkyl celluloses, for example hydroxyethyl or hydroxypropyl cellulose.
- the acid groups are preferably at least partially neutralized with cosmetically compatible bases.
- Organic or inorganic bases suitable for cosmetic purposes can be used as neutralizing agents.
- bases are amino alcohols such as e.g. Aminomethylpropanol (AMP), triethanolamine or monoethanolamine and ammonia, NaOH and others.
- the silicone oils are preferably contained in an amount of 0.05 to 25% by weight, particularly preferably in an amount of 0.5 to 10% by weight.
- the silicone oils can be volatile or non-volatile silicones.
- Non-volatile silicones in the sense of this application are silicones with no or only low vapor pressure under normal ambient conditions (1 atmosphere, 25 ° C.). In principle, all silicone compounds are suitable that have hair-conditioning properties, are water-insoluble and in aqueous Phases are dispersible.
- the silicone oils have a viscosity of preferably 100 to 100,000 mPa s, particularly preferably 200 to 10,000 mPa s at 25 ° C., measured with a Haake VT 501 rotary viscometer at a shear rate of 12.9 per second.
- Suitable silicone oils are, for example, cyclic polydimethylsiloxanes (INCI name: Cyclomethicone) such as e.g. Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane and decamethylcyclopentasiloxane; linear polydimethylsiloxanes (INCI name: Dimethicone), polydiethylsiloxanes, phenyl-substituted siloxanes (INCI name: phenyltrimethicone), polymethylphenylsiloxanes, hydroxy-substituted siloxanes (INCI name: Dimethiconol) and amino-substituted siloxane (INCI-substituted siloxane) their mixtures.
- Polydimethylsiloxanes which are liquid at room temperature are particularly preferred.
- Capsules in the sense of the invention are solid particles of any kind which are loaded in some form with fragrances or active ingredients.
- the active substances can either be enclosed inside the solid particles or absorbed on the possibly porous surface of the particles.
- Such systems and their manufacture are generally known and are described, for example, in Seife- ⁇ le-Fette-Wwachs, 115th vol. (1989), pages 94-98 or in EP 590 538 and the literature cited in each case.
- Microcapsules are particularly preferred. Typical particle diameters are 0.1 to 5 mm. Capsules that are clearly visible to the naked eye, for example with a diameter of 1 to 3 mm, are particularly preferred.
- suitable capsule materials are natural polymers such as agar, Agarose, alginic acid or alginates, gum arabic, acacia gum, gelatin, maltodextrin, dextran, cellulose carboxymethyl cellulose, chitosan etc. but also synthetic polymers such as polyvinyl methyl ether / maleic anhydride copolymers, polyurethanes etc.
- Suitable systems are commercially available, for example Kobo soft spheres made of agar and cellulose with a diameter of 0.4 to 5 mm, microcapsules made of gelatin and gum arabic with a diameter of 0.1 to 1.1 mm or alginate multispheres made of potassium alginate with a diameter of approx. 2.9 mm from Hallcrest or Chitosanpearls from Georges S. Daras SA made of chitosan with a diameter of 1 to 2 mm.
- the agent according to the invention is preferably as
- the capsules contain perfume oils or other fragrances. These fragrances can be the only fragrances contained in the overall composition or they can be contained in addition to fragrances already encapsulated in the base material, which then leads to a changed or enhanced fragrance experience when used.
- Typical use concentrations are 0.1 to 10% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 5% by weight for the capsules and 0.01 to 5% by weight, preferably 0.1 to 1% by weight for the fragrance and / or agents.
- Suitable active ingredients are e.g. Vitamins, protein hydrolyzates, antidandruff agents, UV absorbers, colorants etc., the encapsulated active ingredients preferably being of a hydrophobic nature.
- the agent according to the invention is preferably used in an aqueous or in an aqueous-alcoholic medium assembled.
- the lower alcohols with 1 to 4 carbon atoms usually used for cosmetic purposes, such as ethanol and isopropanol can be included as alcohols.
- the water content is preferably from 40 to 95, particularly preferably from 60 to 90 percent by weight.
- the alcohol content is preferably from 1 to 30, particularly preferably from 5 to 20 percent by weight.
- particularly preferred water-soluble solvents or humectants are polyhydric alcohols, in particular those with 2 to 4 carbon atoms such as glycerol, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol in an amount of 0.1 to 10% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 5 wt.%.
- the agent according to the invention can be present as a microemulsion in order to achieve sufficient clarity.
- it is also possible to achieve clarity by setting the refractive indices of the silicone oil phase and aqueous phase to essentially the same values.
- the adjustment can be made, for example, by varying the glycerol content.
- the agent according to the invention is preferably essentially free of emulsifiers. This ensures that no fine, typically milky-white and therefore opaque emulsion is formed.
- the silicone phase is in the form of macroscopic, dispersible droplets visible to the naked eye. Typical particle diameters are, for example, from 0.01 to 1 mm.
- the stability of this liquid / liquid dispersion, which is normally unstable without an emulsifier, is probably due to this cause the yield point of the gel to prevent coalescence of the silicone oil droplets.
- the agent according to the invention can also contain the usual additional ingredients for hair treatment agents, for example humectants; Preservatives, bactericidal and fungicidal active ingredients such as, for example, 2, 4, 4-trichloro-2-hydroxydiphenyl ether, parabens or methylchlorisothiazolinone, in an amount of 0.01 to 1.0 percent by weight; Buffer substances such as sodium citrate or sodium phosphate in an amount of 0.1 to 1.0 percent by weight; Stains such as fluorescein sodium salt in an amount of about 0.1 to 1.0 percent by weight; Care substances, such as plant and herbal extracts, protein and silk hydrolyzates, lanolin derivatives, in an amount of 0.1 to 5 percent by weight; Light stabilizers, antioxidants, radical scavengers, anti-dandruff agents, fatty alcohols, gloss agents, vitamins, combability improvers and lipid-replenishing agents in an amount of 0.01 to 10% by weight.
- humectants Pre
- the agent according to the invention can be present in a pH range from 2.0 to 9.5.
