Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a system and method for outputting investment bank recommendation data and financial data which relates to a financial instrument on an output device of a user.
  • Systems for displaying financial information of one or more financial instruments are known. These systems are generally utilized by users to obtain financial and general information about a particular financial instrument (e.g., a stock, a bond, etc.), thus aiding the user to make an informed decision regarding buying, selling, holding, etc. of such particular financial instrument.
  • the financial information provided by such conventional systems may include current and previous price for the financial instrument, split information, etc.
  • the general information may include board members and/or officers information, recent events concerning the company, etc.
  • the users also utilize recommendation information provided by financial institutions (e.g., the investment banks) regarding the financial securities.
  • the financial institution issues rating information for one or more securities.
  • rating may indicate that, e.g., on a specific date, a particular financial institution issued a "Hold" rating for one of the financial instruments that the financial institution was monitoring.
  • the user may rely on this rating information to make a decision regarding the financial instrument on which the "Hold" rating was issued. For example, the user may not buy this financial instrument because he or she was influenced by the rating information issued by the particular financial institution.
  • One of the objects of the present invention is to overcome these deficiencies by providing the user with a way to determine how effective are the recommendations issued by the financial institutions (e.g., how they reflect the financial future of one or more financial instruments).
  • the present invention provides a system and method for displaying analysis data to at least one financial instrument on an output device.
  • the recommendation data and financial data are received by first arrangement of the system.
  • the recommendation data indicates rating information issued by at least one financial institution for the financial instrument, and the financial data indicates value information for the financial instrument.
  • the recommendation data and the financial data are outputted as the analysis data on the output device by a second arrangement of the system.
  • the user would be able to view the performance of one or more financial securities before, during and after the financial institution issues rating information for one or more such financial instruments. At that time, the user may decide whether he or she would rely on the rating of a particular financial institution for buying, selling and/or holding the financial instruments.
