Abstract

Verbinder, der zur Verbindung von Signalträgerleitungen, insbesondere optischen Fasern, verwendet werden kann. Der Verbinder umfasst ein Gehäuse (10) mit einem ersten Ende (14), das eine der Signalträgerleitungen aufnehmen kann, und einem zweiten Ende (12) mit einer Stirnfläche (15), in der eine Öffnung (17) ausgebildet ist, die eine Buchse zur Aufnahme eines Steckers (18) an dem Ende der anderen Signalträgerleitung definiert. Ein schwenkbar angebrachter Verschluss (20) ist innerhalb der Stirnfläche (15) angeordnet und wird durch eine Feder zu einer Position vorgespannt, in der er normalerweise die Öffnung schliesst. Der Verschluss ist so dimensioniert, dass er in seiner geschlossenen Position die Innenfläche der Stirnfläche um die Öffnung herum in Eingriff nimmt.
