Abstract

The fitting is of the pin and nut coupling type whereof the nut, when it is unscrewed, moves back to a position wherein it is locked and cannot be screwed on again, and the meter and the tap are mounted on the bracket (30) such that they cannot be spaced apart from each other in the direction of the axis of the fitting after they have been positioned in connection. The assembly is produced by tilting the meter positioned in a pivoting support (42) and whereof the position is adjusted by a ring (44) made inaccessible when the fitting is clamped on. The invention is applicable to domestic water meters.
