Abstract

The racks (8), provided with locking hooks (6) on both ends are formed by long and short rack rods. Locking hooks (6) with the sides bent inwards, in U-shape, towards the rack rods, parallel to the rack surface (8) and a pivoting arm (5) with an angularly bent end, which is connected to the rack rods forming a 90° angle, are located at the ends of the racks (8). The locking bearings (2 and 3) are located on the rack holding assembly (1) at a 90° angle, with the rotational joint (7) in the middle. The racks (8) are mounted into the rotational joint (7) from their end sections. The group of two rack holding assemblies (1) and two racks (8) placed on the formers, is attached on the basket wires vertically by means of their wire bearings (4) in such a manner that it occupies 1/4 of the basket area.

Description

DISHWASHING MACHINE BASKET WITH FOLDABLE DISH HOLDER RACKS

The present invention relates to a dishwashing machine basket including short and long racks that can be folded independently in order to provide to the user to wash the smaller crockery pieces together with the big ones.

The upper and lower baskets in the dishwashing machines are designed to contain a table set for twelve people. When the user tries to put a large kitchen utensil in the upper or lower basket, the dish holder rods in the basket prevent to load the big crockery pieces. To solve this problem, the rack with short and long divider rods, is designed as one removable piece. However this solution has brought many drawbacks with respect to usage. The user either does not place the said removable rack in the basket after it has been removed or she/he never removes it from the basket.

In another application, a plastic part is mounted on both ends of the rack that is formed by short and long rods, to be able to fold it. In the European Patent

Application, EP 797949, both ends of the rack with divider rods have been given a specific form and mounted to the basket, thus providing the folding of the rack without using an additional part.

In these applications, as the rack with the short and long divider rods is considered as one-piece, both of long and short rods are folded together and occupy almost half area of the basket as its capacity of usage. Therefore when a single pot is loaded in the machine, no more crockery can be placed on the same side as folded rack.

The object of the present invention is to provide the mobility of the short and long dividing racks independently from each other; and to provide the possibility to place large and small crockery and cooking utensils at the same time in the basket by folding each independent rack by means of a part serving as a bearing.

The dishwasher basket with foldable racks according to the present invention is illustrated in the attached drawings, wherein:

9. Basket The basket (9) shown in Fig. 6 and 7, includes horizontal and vertical basket wires with equal spacings. The distance between the basket wires is equal to the distance between the wire bearings (4) on the lower surface of the rack holding assembly (1). The racks (8) with locking hooks (6) on both ends, are formed of long and short rods.

The locking hooks (6) with their sides bent in U-form towards the rack rods, parallel to the plane formed by the rack (8) wires, and a pivoting arm (5), the end section of which is angularly bent, that is connected to the said plane at a right angle, are mounted on the end parts of the racks (8).

The locking bearings (2 and 3) forming 90° angle with each other, are located at one end on the upper surface of the rack holding assembly (1), with the rotational joint (7) in the middle. The wire bearing (4) here is located in the inner bottom side.

On the other end of the rack holding assembly (1) another locking bearings (2 and 3) and the rotational joint (7) group is located but the wire bearing (4) is located at the outer bottom side here, with respect to the said locking bearings (2 and 3) and the rotational joint (7) group.

The racks (8) are mounted on the rotational joint (7) from their end sections in order to keep the rack holding assembly (1) at the bottom and the locking hooks (6) bent in a U-form at the top. The group of two rack holding assemblies (1) and two racks (8) placed on the formers, is attached on the basket wires vertically by means of their wire bearings (4) in such a manner that it occupies ^lλ of the basket area.

When the racks (8) are in vertical position, the pivoting arm (5), which is perpendicular to the plane formed by the locking hooks (6), vertical locking bearing (2) and rack (8) rods, is in horizontal, i.e folded position on the bottom basket wires. If one of the racks (8) is desired to be folded, it will be sufficient just to rotate the pivoting arm (5). In this case, the locking hook (6) inside the vertical locking bearing (2), projects out of this bearing (2) and enters into the horizontal locking bearing (3) with a 90° angle. Before the motion starts, the pivoting arm folded down on the basket wires, rotates to vertical position.

When a big kitchen utensil is loaded in the basket (9), the pivoting arm (5) in vertical position serves as a support for the crockery to be placed on it during the folding of any one of the racks (8).

Claims

1. A dishwashing machine basket with foldable racks, characterized by a basket- rack unit formed by two rack holding assemblies (1), two racks (8) placed on the said rack holding assemblies, basket wires having the distance between each other equal to the distance between the wire bearings (4) which are located on the lower surface of the rack holding assemblies and which are mounted vertically to the basket wires in order to occupy ^lA of the basket area.

A dishwashing machine basket with foldable racks according to Claim 1, characterized by a rack holding assembly (1) serving as a bearing for the racks (8) and providing their movement on the basket (9), including at one end and on its upper surface the locking bearings (2 and 3) which form a 90° angle with each other and which have the rotational joint (7) in the middle, and the wires bearing (4) which is at the inner bottom side accordingly, whereas at the other end and on its upper surface the locking bearings (2 and 3) which form a 90° angle with each other and which have the rotational joint (7) in the middle, and the wires bearing (4) which is at the outer bottom side accordingly.

3. A dishwashing machine basket with foldable racks according to Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the locking bearings (2 and 3) located at one end, on the upper surface of the rack holding assembly (1) form a 90° angle with the rotational joint (7) situated in the middle.

A dishwashing machine basket with foldable racks according to Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the rack (8) formed by short and long rods includes the locking hooks (6) with their sides bent in U-form towards the rack rods, parallel to the plane formed by the rack (8) wires, and a pivoting arm (5) the end section of which is angularly bent, that is connected to the said plane at a right angle.

A dishwashing machine basket with foldable racks according to Claims 1 to 4, characterized by the locking hooks (6) that are U-shaped end parts of the rack wires, which provide locking when the racks (8) are brought to the horizontal and vertical position, by entering into the horizontal and vertical locking bearings (2 and 3) respectively.

A dishwashing machine basket with foldable racks according to Claims 1 to 5, characterized by a pivoting arm (5) that is perpendicular to the rack surface (8), the end of which is angularly bent and which is in a folded and horizontal position on the basket wires at the bottom of the basket when the racks (8) are in an upright position, and the locking hooks (6) are inside the vertical locking bearing (2); whereas it is in an upright position when the racks (8) are in a horizontal position and the locking hooks (6) are inside the horizontal locking bearing (3).
