Abstract

Zur Erzielung einer möglichst hohen wärme- und strahlungsabsorbierenden Abschirmwirkung weist erfindungsgemäß ein Strahlenschutzmantel (2) einen Wandbereich (2a bis 2z) auf, der aus einem mit einem ersten, borhaltigen Zuschlagstoff mit einer Korngröße bis zu 1 mm und mit einem zweiten, metallischen Zuschlagstoff mit einer Korngröße bis zu 7 mm versehenen Strahlenschutzbeton (22a bis 22z) gebildet ist. In einer ersten Ausführungsform beträgt der Gehalt an erstem, borhaltigem Zuschlagstoff im Strahlenschutzbeton (22a) mindestens 5,0 Gew.-%, insbesondere mindestens 7,8 Gew.-%. Der Strahlenschutzbeton (22b) weist in einer zweiten Ausführungsform einen Anteil des zweiten, metallischen Zuschlagstoffs aus dem Bereich zwischen 80 und 90 Gew.-% auf, insbesondere aus dem Bereich zwischen 85 und 89 Gew.-%. Der Anteil des ersten, borhaltigen Zuschlagstoffs kann dabei im Intervall zwischen 1,0 und 1,5 Gew.-% liegen.
