Definitions
- the invention relates to an air humidification and washing device, as is used for the humidification and cleaning of the room air
- Humidification systems have been known for a long time. Depending on the size of the room, they work with evaporated water, steam blowers or water atomizers. Humidification systems are used in the form of air humidification devices or on a large scale, especially in industrial plants processing hygroscopic substances
- Air conditioning systems often combine several air treatment methods and have the task of keeping the temperature and humidity within any specified limits. They contain equipment for heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification and cleaning of the air as well as self-regulating measurement and control technology
- the air is loaded with numerous, tiny and finely divided particles of organic and inorganic substances of natural or anthropogenic origin. These can be animal and vegetable fibers, pollen, mineral substances, bacteria and fungal spores. In cities, the dust in the air also contains a large proportion of smoke. and tar-like soot particles In an industrial city, the air can be contaminated with over three million particles per cubic meter. Over the ocean or on high mountains, it is only a few thousand per cubic meter. The size of these dust particles varies from half a micrometer (0.0005 millimeter) to one Many times this size The particles remain in the air for a long time and can be transported over long distances with the air movement
- an air humidification device which consists of a lower part for receiving water, an upper part with a suction opening and a blow-out opening, horizontally rotatably mounted, in a roll shape in a plurality of axially arranged evaporation disks for receiving water from the lower part and there is a blower for generating an air flow directed onto the evaporation disks and a drive motor
- the diameter of the individual disk pack is relatively small, so that the water level, which may extend up to the axis of rotation, is also relatively low. This means that the water supply in the device must be frequently supplemented long-term maintenance-free operating time is not possible 3
- the object of the invention is therefore to develop an air humidifying and washing device which is simple in construction and which achieves high washing and humidifying performance over a longer operating time with little effort
- the disks used in the device according to the invention consist of plate-shaped molded bodies which contain cavities (channels).
- the channels run through the entire disk and mouth around the circumference on both sides. They can be straight and parallel to one another or with constant changes of direction and intersecting and intersecting
- the starting material for the production of the panes according to the invention are plate-shaped molded articles made of plastic. These are commercially available, extruded sheets in various thicknesses and wall thicknesses, which contain channels. This structure creates a large surface with sufficient strength and low weight.
- the starting material is in sheets with a width of up to offered to 2.5 m, so that discs up to a diameter of 2.5 m can be made from one piece
- Disks with an even larger diameter can be assembled from parts of several plates.
- the pieces can be joined together using an H-shaped profile strip.
- the direction of the channels can be varied from piece to piece in order to achieve additional effects with this possibility of variation channels can be created which are closed on one side and which thus gain a certain cropping effect
- the disk packs composed of the disks according to the invention can consist of disks of one type or of different types It is also possible to use a cylindrical structured body, which is penetrated by straight or zigzag-shaped channels which intersect and intersect, instead of a disk package with disks of the type described above
- the effective surface area per volume unit of disc package or structured body is more than twice too large compared to a disc package composed of flat and solid discs
- the hollow chamber disks and structured bodies that are used are mass-produced products that are inexpensively manufactured by, for example, extrusion or other automated processes. They are stable and can therefore also be used for larger disk diameters
- FIG. 1 shows an air humidifying and washing device equipped with a pane package according to the invention.
- FIG. 2 shows one of the panes
- Figure 3 shows the disks according to Figure 2 in side view.
- Figures 4, 5, 6 and 7 show variations of assembled disks
- the air humidification and washing device according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 consists of a housing 1 in which a disc package 3 composed of discs 2 is rotatably mounted.
- the housing is filled with water up to the axis of rotation of the disc package 3. so that there is space for a fan 4 D
- the pane 2 shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is made of a hollow chamber material and is crossed over the entire width by parallel channels 5.
- Commercial extruded, plate-shaped molded articles made of plastic serve as the starting material for the manufacture of the panes 2. This structure brings about a large surface area with sufficient strength and little Weight
- Disks 2 with a larger diameter can, as shown in FIGS. 4 to 7, be assembled from parts 6 of several plates. The parts can be joined together using an H-shaped profile strip (not shown)
- FIG. 5 shows an embodiment in which the direction of the channels 5 of the partial pieces 6 differ from one another, so that channels 7 which are closed on one side are created in part, with which special flow effects can be achieved
- FIGS. 6 and 7 show further variations in which openings 8 are made in the end faces of the panes.
- the openings 8 can penetrate the pane 2 completely or only through one side wall. With the help of the openings 8, further flow effects can be achieved
- the disk packs 3 composed of the disks 2 according to the invention can consist of disks 2 of one type or of different types. By combining disks 2 of different types, disk packs 3 of various designs can be achieved
- the device according to the invention works as follows
- the disk pack 3 is rotated.
- the fan 4 sucks in air contaminated with dust from the surroundings of the device and presses it on the disks 2 and through the channels 5 and the openings 8 - if present - of the disks 2.
- the channels 5 are filled with water at the moment that they break through the surface of the water due to the rotation of the disk pack 3.
- the channels empty in the direction of the fan 4 or in the opposite direction Air printed through the disks 2 therefore moves in the opposite direction or with the direction of flow of the water. In this way, the air passed through and between the disks 2 comes into contact with a large surface wetted with water, which leads to intensive cleaning and humidification of the air
- the channels 7 and the openings 8 provide an additional swirling of the water, as a result of which the cleaning and moistening effect can be further increased
