Abstract

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft Lysozym-analoge Proteine und Peptide mit antimikrobieller Wirkung, ihre Herstellung und ihre Verwendung. Diese Proteine oder Peptide sind entweder rekombinant oder durch Mutationen nur insoweit verändert, daß die wesentlichen, vor allem die antimikrobiellen Eigenschaften des T4 Lysozyms bis auf die Muramidase-Aktivität erhalten bleiben. Außerdem betrifft sie rekombinante Proteine, die mindestens die Aminosäuren 126-141 oder 143-155 des T4 Lysozyms enthalten. Die Erfindung schließt die Herstellung dieser Proteine oder Peptide aus ihren codierenden Genen über deren Biosynthese in pro- und eukaryontischen Organismen sowie über chemisch synthetisierte Proteine oder Peptide ein. Die erfindungsgemäße Verwendung dieser Proteine oder Peptide, die als medizinische Wirkstoffe, als Nahrungs- oder Futtermittelzusatzstoffe oder als andere antimikrobiell protektive Stoffe in vivo und in vitro oder als Fremdprotein in transgenen Organismen erfolgt, ist ebenfalls eingeschlossen.
