Abstract

El ácido 2-[2-(3,5-diclorofenil)etil]benzoico (V), que es el intermedio clave para la preparación del eberconazol (I) a través de una secuencia conocida de cuatro pasos, se prepara por hidrogenación catalítica del ácido 2-[2-(3,5-diclorofenil)etenil]benzoico (VI). El intermedio (VI) se prepara por hidrólisis de su éster metílico, previamente obtenido por una reacción de Wittig entre el 3,5-diclorobenzaldehido y el iluro de fósforo del bromuro de [[(2-metoxicarbonil)fenil]-metil]trifenilfosfonio. El procedimiento global puede aumentarse de escala fácilmente puesto que las reacciones pueden realizarse a temperatura moderada, sin necesidad de atmósfera estricamente inerte y sin riesgo de inflamación. El ácido carboxílico (VI) y su éster metílico son intermedios químicamente nuevos. La invención es útil para la preparación industrial del agente antifúngico eberconazol (I).
