Abstract
Cylindrical gear drive with materialized pitch cylinders comprising two double-ring gear wheels is known in the prior art. Each of said double-ring gear wheels is shaped with a cylindrical bead with diameter of the cylindrical surface equal to that of the corresponding pitch cylinder. Rolling contact is realized between said double-ring gear wheels through the cylindrical surfaces of the corresponding cylindrical beads. It is a certain disadvantage of heretofore cylindrical gear drives with materialized pitch cylinders that they possess relatively great overall dimension in axial direction. The proposed solution to said problem is that for each of said double-ring gear wheels (1, 2) the outside diameter of one of the corresponding toothed rings and the root diameter of the other toothed ring should be reciprocally equal and they should be in turn equal to the diameter of the corresponding pitch cylinder so that said toothed rings of the proposed gear drive would serve the purpose of said cylindrical beads of heretofore gear drives. The present invention can find commercial application first and foremost in the manufacture of eccentric planetary gear drives with small difference between the number of teeth of the corresponding gear wheels and with a satellite gear wheel floating in radial direction.
Description
GEAR PAIR WITH ROLLING CONTACT
The present invention relates to cylindrical gear drives with materialized pitch cylinders and it is applicable to gear type speed reducers and gear type speed multipliers.
In the present description, in accordance with the standard definitions, by pitch cylinders of a cylindrical gear drive is meant the corresponding imaginary tangent cylinders which would transmit by slideless rolling contact the same motion as the gear drive itself.
Cylindrical gear drive with materialized pitch cylinders comprising two double- ring gear wheels is known in the prior art. Each single toothed ring of said double-ring gear wheels is meshed with a corresponding toothed ring of the opposite gear wheel thereby forming a conjugated gear pair so that said cylindrical gear drive with materialized pitch cylinders includes two gear pairs having equal gear ratio. Each of said double-ring gear wheels is shaped with a cylindrical bead disposed between the corresponding toothed rings. For each of said double-ring gear wheels the diameter of the cylindrical surface of the corresponding cylindrical bead is equal to the diameter of the corresponding pitch cylinder.
It is the principal object of this invention to provide a cylindrical gear drive with materialized pitch cylinders with comparatively smaller overall dimensions.
The foregoing object will be carried out by providing a cylindrical gear drive with materialized pitch cylinders comprising two double-ring gear wheels. Each single toothed ring of said double-ring gear wheels is meshed with a corresponding toothed ring of the opposite gear wheel thereby forming a conjugated gear pair so that the proposed cylindrical gear drive with materialized pitch cylinders includes two gear
pairs having equal gear ratio. For each of said double-ring gear wheels the outside diameter of one of the corresponding toothed rings and the root diameter of the other toothed ring are reciprocally equal and they are in turn equal to the diameter of the corresponding pitch cylinder.
The pitch cylinders of the proposed cylindrical gear drive are materialized in definite cylindrical surfaces of the corresponding toothed rings which in turn results in comparatively smaller overall dimensions of said cylindrical gear drive.
The invention is explained by reference to a preferred embodiment.
Fig. 1 is an axial section of the preferred embodiment. Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 are transverse sections corresponding to Fig. 1. Fig. 4 and Fig. 5 are side elevations of the separate double-ring gear wheels of the presented cylindrical gear drive.
Each single toothed ring of double-ring gear wheels 1 and 2 is meshed with a corresponding toothed ring of the opposite gear wheel thereby forming a conjugated gear pair of internal involute gearing. For each of said double-ring gear wheels 1 and 2 the corresponding toothed rings have equal number of teeth so that the presented cylindrical gear drive includes two gear pairs having equal gear ratio. For each of said double-ring gear wheels 1 and 2 the outside diameter of one of the corresponding toothed rings and the root diameter of the other toothed ring are reciprocally equal and they are in turn equal to the diameter of the corresponding pitch cylinder. For each of said double-ring gear wheels 1 and 2 the teeth of the corresponding rings have common planes of symmetry so that the total contact ratio of the presented cylindrical gear drive is greater in comparison with that of anyone of said gear pairs if taken separately.
The present invention can find commercial application first and foremost in the manufacture of eccentric planetary gear drives with small difference between the number of teeth of the corresponding gear wheels and with a satellite gear wheel floating in radial direction.
