Abstract

Este invento se relaciona en general a un sistema para comunicación bi-direccional de voz, datos, alarmas o equivalentes, que simultáneamente transmitan señales de vídeo por un cable coaxial. Específicamente, se aplica a un sistema de comunicación que utiliza un cable tipo coaxial para ofrecer servicios relacionados con una computadora central, a las habitaciones delos huéspedes, tales como el estado de cuenta del huésped, y que sean mostrados en la pantalla de la TV de la habitación, etc. Este invento utiliza un protocolo de comunicación digital, preferentemente PCM, que se acomode a un sinnúmero de canales de comunicación dentro de las frecuencias de radiodifusión de televisión convencional. Estos canales de comunicaciones pueden ser usados en diferentes formas, para transportar cualquier tipo de datos digitales (vr. gr., estados de cuenta de la habitación, envío de informes, facsímiles, voz, etc.). El invento, también ofrece un medio de dirigir información de vídeo transmitida a una habitación específica dentro de una estructura. Este invento permite el control de recepción de canales de televisión, procedentes de la red de distribución, para ser mostrados en el receptor de TV de la habitación. Finalmente, el invento acepta las entradas de señales de alarmas, y su registro y procesamiento en la unidad central de monitores.
