Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a pipe holder for temporary fixing of PEX duplex pipes, and of the type described in the introductory part of claim 1.
  • PEX pipe is used, which is a double duplex pipe (pipe-in-pipe), where an outer corrugated plastic pipe constitutes a mantle for the duplex pipe itself, which also is made from plastic, f.eks. PEL-pipe.
  • PEX pipes are laid out to each object, for instance a radiator both as supply and return pipes in such a manner, that each of the inner pipes may be changed, as the corrugated mantle pipe is placed in the insulation layer under the floor construction and is poured in the floor of the boiler or wet room, where said distributor or manifold often is placed in connection with the remaining water or heating installation.
  • PEX pipe distances for more than 10 - 12 meters or with many turns, it furthermore may be necessary to insert a distributor or manifold at a suitable place on the PEX pipe section, for instance in the bottom of a built-in cupboard.
  • a known holding device of this type consists of plastic cassettes each adapted to fix a pair of pipes and capable of being built together for fixing the wanted number of pairs of pipes.
  • this known holder is valuable to use because it is poured in the floor and therefore cannot be re-used.
  • a pipe holder which comprises a number of openings adapted to receive predetermined pipes during the construction of a house.
  • the pipe holder has a projecting mounting extension, which is provided with a slit, which in a height adjustable manner is adapted to receive a vertical holding part being adapted to be secured by nails to a horizontal shutter board.
  • This known pipe holder which goes back to 1970, is adapted to keep the ends of stiff pipes before and during the pouring of building foundations and horizontal divisions of concrete, as the pipe ends are guided in the pipe holder, which during the mounting may be displaced in the height to make it easier to guide in the stiff pipe ends in order to mutually positioning of these during the pouring work.
  • the invention has for its purpose to provide an improved pipe holder for temporary fixing of PEX duplex pipes, and which makes it easier to obtain a nicer PEX pipe installation, which pipe holder is adapted to be re-used, as it preferably is made from steel.
  • the pipe holder according to the invention is distinctive in, that it comprises rows of mutual holding means, each being adapted to receive and fix an end part of a PEX pipe, and being arranged with a mutual axial distance adjusted to a distributor or a manifold, and that the pipe holder comprises means being adapted to secure the device in a certain position in relation to a coming building part, for instance in the underground, or to an already existing building part, for instance a brick wall or a wall.
  • the pipe holder according to the invention may be such provided that said holding means consist of mutual parallel pipe-shaped holding sockets.
  • the pipe holder according to the invention may be such provided that said pipe-shaped holding sockets are arranged in said holding member, preferably made from steel plate, and comprising a basic plate intented for vertical placing and two therefrom perpendicularly projecting, mutual parallel holding plates, each provided with rows of holes, in which the holding sockets are secured, as the holding sockets consist of pipes with larger length than the distance between the holding plates. That is that the pipe holder may be re-used immediately.
  • the pipe holder according to the invention may either be such provided that it is adapted to be secured in the underground, as it comprises preferably pipe-shaped earth rods, which opposite said basic plate is connected by welding to edge parts of said holding plates; or the pipe holder may be adapted to be secured to a wall, why the basic plate is provided with fixing holes.
  • the pipe holder may be such adapted with both said fixing holes in the basic plate and said earth rods, so that one and same pipe holder optional either may be fixed on the existing brick wall or wall (for instance by renovation works, where new floors on the existing shall be poured) or may be fixed in the underground (particularly by new building).
  • the device may advanta- geuosly be such provided that said pipe-shaped holding sockets in the respective rows preferably are mutually displaced.
  • the pipe holder according to the invention may be such provided, that the holding member is provided as a separate part with fixing holes for receiving upper end parts of preferably pipe-shaped earth rods, so that the holding member after anchoring of the earth rods in the underground may be connected with the earth rods and possibly be fixed thereto.
  • the pipe holder according to the invention may advantageously be such provided that the holding member is made from plastic by die casting and is provided with fixing holes for receiving upper end parts of the earth rods each being provided with projecting disc-formed carrying sleeves upon which lower parts of the holding member may be supported.
  • the holding member possibly may be made from plastic by die casting, and therefore it may be most advantageously, that the earth rods, which are mutually connected by an upper connecting plate, as a separate unit firstly may be driven down in the underground, before the holding member is connect- ed with and fixed to the earth rods.
  • Fig. 1 shows a preferred embodiment for a pipe holder according to the invention
  • Fig. 2 shows another embodiment for a pipe holder according to the invention
  • Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment for a pipe holder according to the invention.
  • the pipe holder 2 shown in Fig. 1 is made from steel plate and steel pipes, as a holding member 4 comprises a basic plate 6 adapted for vertical placing either by securing by means of fixing holes 8 directly to a wall or a brick wall or by securing in the underground by means of earth rods 10 in a position along the coming brick wall or wall.
  • the pipe holder 2 according to the invention may exist in many different models or types, being adjusted to common distributors or mainfolds, that is where the number of holding sockets 16 and the mutual axial distance is adjusted to the respective distributors or manifolds.
  • the innermost row of six holding sockets 16 is used for fixing of end parts of PEX pipes (pipe-in-pipe) for supplying cold water to tap positions in a house; while the outmost displaced row of six holding sockets 16 for instance represents end parts of PEX pipe for supplying hot water to the same tap positions.
  • the shown earth rods 10 consist of steel pipes, which upwardly are closed by a short massive steel plug forming an impact head for driving down the earth rods 10 in the underground by a heavy hammer.
  • the earth rods 10 are welded to the holding plates 12 and mutually strenghtened with a fish-plate 18.
  • the earth rods 10 may in advance to the driving down advantageously be provided with lining pipes 20, for instance stiff plastic pipes, so that the earth rods 10 and therewith the holder 2 subsequently is easier to loosen from the new- poured concrete floor or concrete foundation.
  • lining pipes 10 most often will follow the earth rods 10 up, when these are pulled upwardly from the new-poured concrete; but if it will not be the case, the upper projecting part of the lining pipes is easy to remove.
  • the holder 2 shall be used for fixing of end parts of PEX pipes by renovation works, where an existing floor prevents use of the earth rods 10, they are just turned upwardly and in stead the basic plate 6 is secured to the existing wall or brick wall.
  • the preferred pipe holder 2 shown in Fig. 1 is made totally from steel, namely from steel plate and steel pipe.
  • the holding part 24 itself of the other embodiment for a pipe holder 22 shown in Fig. 2 according to the invention may either be made from steel plate or be made from plastic by die casting, as the holding part 24, the principle structure of which corresponds to the pipe holder 2 shown in Fig. 1, is manufactured as a loose separate box-shaped part with special fixing holes 26 being adapted to be guided down over the upper end part of a double earth rod 28, so that the holding part 24 rests against the topside of a fish-plate 30 connecting the earth rods 28.
  • the box-shaped holding part 24 is in stead of vertical holding sockets only provided with simple support holes 32 opposite each other in the respective holding plates 34 and 36.
  • the holding part 24 may in connection with the fixing holes 26 comprise active locking means for locking the holding part 24 to the earth rods 28.
  • Fig. 3 is shown an embodiment for a simplified pipe holder 38 consisting of an angle-bend holding plate 40 of steel with simple support holes 42 in a horizontal plate part 44 of the holding plate 40.
  • Upper end parts of mutual parallel earth rods 46 are welded directly to the back of a vertical plate part 48 of the holding plate 40.
