- the main object of the present invention is thus to provide a device for division of loading areas of a bulk ship, which offers flexibility for transporting more bulk products in same load. It is desirable to be able to vary the size of the loading areas, and adjust them to the size of the different loads to be accomodated.
- the bulkheads which are to be used must be capable of creating a tight division in order to allow transporting of finely granulated substances without leakages.

- the bulkhead 14A as illustrated in Fig. 2 is provided with a set of protrusions 15A-D on each side, which in this example, extend from a flatshaped bulkhead with a smooth outer surface.
- the wall fastenings 13 A-E have the shape of a U-track with a toothed side flange, that is a side with alternating protrusions 15A-D and notches 16A-D corresponding to the protrusions 15A-D.
- the notches are placed unsymmetrically to the two wall fastenings as illustrated by Fig. 3, that is, front on one side, and astern on the opposite.
- the protrusions are placed with a vertical displacement according to the protrusion-height h. This makes it possible to lift the bulkheads a distance h (see Fig. 4) in order to turn or twist the bulkhead and thereby lead the protrusions 15A-D into place in the U-tracks, through the notches 16A- D.
- FIG. 4 shows the lower edge of a bulkhead 14A in raised position during the twisting to lead the protrusions 15A-D into place in the wall fastenings 13 A-E.
- the lower edge of the bulkhead has a track 17 that corresponds to a transverse rail 18 on the deck of the loading area.
- the rail is formed to give a sealing upon pressure against the lower edge of the bulkhead. In the example it has a rib 19 extending upwards, which is able to enter the track 17.
- the rail 18 should have a bevel angle on the sides that is larger than the slide angle for current goods which are to be transported.
- the rail 18 should also have an edge that offers a drop for drain of remaining materials.
- the bulkheads 14A-D may be lifted with a crane and moved from a storage at the end of the loading area, to the current pairs of wall fastenings.
- the device according to the invention may be modified in different ways, corresponding to what is shown in the embodiment example.
- the side edges of the bulkheads and the wall fastenings may for example have opposite recesses and lateral displacable locking bolts, preferably cylindrical or conical, so that the locking bolts may be lead into engagement with the recesses of the side walls.
- system with protrusions and recesses shown in the example may be moved over on a vertical displacable rail on each side of the bulkheads that can be moved up and down between engagement -position and free-position. This could be combined with keyhole shaped openings or recesses.
