Abstract

On introduit l'aiguille à détruire, fixée dans la seringue, à travers une niche d'entrée aménagée dans le corps du dispositif, dans la zone prévue pour sa mise en place de manière à ce que sa pointe entre en contact avec une électrode soumise à un effet ressort et reliée au premier pôle de la source de courant. On fixe l'aiguille dans cette position par son extrémité raccordée à la seringue, en utilisant deux groupes d'éléments de fixation désaxés par rapport à ladite seringue. Au moins l'un des éléments de fixation du premier et du second groupes est une électrode reliée, selon le cas, au premier ou au second pôle de la source de courant. Après fixation de l'aiguille, d'abord par un premier segment, puis par un second enserré entre les électrodes de polarités opposées, on fait passer un courant suffisant pour assurer la destruction de l'aiguille en provoquant sa fusion partielle. On peut choisir comme on veut l'ordre des segments. L'utilisation de deux groupes d'éléments de fixation écarte le risque d'une déformation du segment d'aiguille raccordé à la seringue, d'où une hermétisation efficace du volume de la séringue lorsque le segment d'aiguille pas encore consumé commence à fondre. Dans la variante préférée, les éléments de fixation se présentent sous forme de lames de métal soumises à un effet ressort les poussant l'une vers l'autre et en contact avec l'aiguille par leurs longs côtés. Entre la zone de mise en place de l'aiguille et la plateforme de support des éléments de fixation est installée une tige nettoyeuse qui, lorsque les éléments de fixation se rapprochent de l'aiguille, glisse sur leurs surfaces de contact et les nettoie. Un second nettoyage est opéré lors du retour du dispositif à sa position initiale, après destruction de l'aiguille. Au titre de l'invention sont proposés diverses variantes d'éléments de fixation, de mécanisme de déplacement de ces derniers par rapport à l'aiguille et de connexion des électrodes avec la source de courant.
