Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de déterminer la topologie d'un réseau informatique consistant à lire des données transmises aux ports en provenance de chaque appareil dans, au moins, un sous-ensemble d'un réseau informatique. Les données transmises aux ports sont, ensuite, traitées et analysées de façon à déduire la topologie du sous-ensemble, au moins, du réseau informatique. La lecture des données transmises aux ports est, de préférence, effectuée en rendant tous les commutateurs accessibles dans le sous-ensemble, au moins, du réseau informatique de façon à fournir, pour la suite de l'analyse, un maximum de données transmises aux ports, disponibles. L'analyse topologique utilise une fonction récursive de façon à déduire la topologie à partir des données dérivées, transmises aux ports et ce, en plaçant les commutateurs accessibles dans une structure arborescente permettant de visualiser, de façon efficace, les interconnexions physiques des commutateurs.
