Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for locking a band to an element including at least three locking members, which be- tween each other form passages for the band and of which at least a first member is stationarily arranged at a base of the element whereas at least a second member is arranged allow ⁇ ing the band to be put in a loop around the same.
  • a disadvantage with the known solutions is it that it is fairly dif- ficult to bring the band into engagement to the locking members and to adjust the extent of the band by displacing the band relative to the locking members.
  • the purpose of the invention is to further develop the device discussed herein above so that the same on the one hand gives the highly effective locking in the locking state of the device, but on the other hand allows proportionately easily practicable ad- justing of the position of the band relative to the element, that is the band can be displaced for adjusting purpose relative to the locking members and thereby relative to the element.
  • sec- ond locking member being movably arranged at a base of the element in a direction substantially towards and away from the first locking member and by there being arranged, between the first and the second locking members, at least one third locking member, which like the second is movably arranged at the base of the element towards and away from the first locking member.
  • the movability of the second and the third locking members to ⁇ wards and away from the first locking member implies on the one hand effective locking in the locking state of the locking members when the band is stretched but allows on the other hand adjusting of the band position relative to the locking mem ⁇ bers after displacing of the second and the third locking mem ⁇ bers in the direction away from the first locking member.
  • Fig 1 is a plan view of en element with locking members for locking a band to the same
  • Fig 2 is a partly cut lateral view of the element
  • Fig 3 is a cut along the line Ill-Ill in Fig 1 , the locking members being in an unlocking position
  • Fig 4 is a view similar to Fig 3 but showing movable locking members moved relative to the position according to Fig 3 in the direction towards a locking position.
  • Fig 1 an element generally denoted 1 is shown.
  • the element is intended to form a coupling element in that a band generally denoted 2 is possible to couple to the element 1 in a locking way.
  • the element can be fixed or intended to be fixed respec ⁇ tively relative to an arbitrary underlayer or an arbitrary carrier.
  • the element 1 is conceived to be in ⁇ tended for coupling to some other arrangement than to the just mentioned band 2.
  • the element 1 may comprise a suitably arranged means 3 for coupling to such an arrange ⁇ ment.
  • This means 3 has in the example the character of an eye intended for connection to some corresponding coupling means, for example a hook coupled to some suitable traction force transmitting member.
  • Other designs of the means 3 are also possible. It could for example be intended to enable cou ⁇ pling to a band in analogy with what hereafter will be described concerning the coupling of the illustrated band 2.
  • this presents at least three locking members 4, 5, 6 which between each other form passages for the band.
  • At least one first locking member 4 is stationarily arranged at a base, generally denoted 7, of the element 1 , whereas at least a second 5 is arranged allowing the band 2 to be put in a loop about the same as it is illustrated in Figs 3 and 4. 917
  • the second locking member 5 is movably arranged in the base 7 of the element in a direction substantially towards and away from the first locking member 4.
  • At least one third locking member 6 is arranged, which like the second locking member 5 is movably arranged in the base of the element 7 towards and away from the first locking member 4.
  • the base of the element 1 comprises two side portions 8, arranged at a mutual distance, the locking members 4, 5, 6 forming bridges of the distance between the side portions.
  • the coupling means 3 also provides means for mutually connecting the side portions 8 as a consequence of the means 3, here in the form of an eye portion, being rigidly connected to each of the side portions.
  • the second locking member 5 is movable to a position, near the position in Fig 4, in which it is capable of pressing a band part 10 situated between itself and the adjacent third locking mem ⁇ ber 6 against the latter.
  • third locking members 6 are ar ⁇ ranged.
  • the second and the third locking members 5, 6 are movable substantially parallel towards and away from the first locking member 4.
  • the second and the third locking members 5, 6 are moveable to a first position, in which they, without band, abut against each other and against the first locking member 4 respectively and from this first position to a second position, where there is a distance of at least twice the band part thickness between the different locking members.
  • the locking members 4, 5, 6 have the character of elongated rods, about which the band parts 9, 10 can be put.
  • One or more, and in the present case all of them, of the locking mem ⁇ bers 4, 5, 6 comprise rotatably supported surfaces for contact with the band. It is preferred that the rods are formed by shafts 11 and sleeves 12 rotatably supported about the shafts.
  • the band parts 9, 10 are consequently in contact with these rotata ⁇ bly supported sleeves.
  • the stationary locking member 4 is stationary in such a way that it is not displaceable transversely to its longitudinal extent. Also this stationary locking member may, however, comprise an outside surface, intended for contact with the band, formed by a rotatably supported sleeve. However, the shaft 1 1 running through the sleeve is undisplaceably fixed at the side portions 8 of the base 1. As an example, the shaft 1 1 belonging to the locking member 4 may have its ends welded to the side por ⁇ tions 8 or in another way, for example by screwing or bolting, fixed relative to the side portions. Consequently, also the lock ⁇ ing member 4 will work to keep the mutual position of the side portions.
  • the second and the third locking members 5, 6 are displaceably supported in guides 13 of the base 7 of the element 1 .
  • these guides are formed as elongated slits 13 in each of the side portions 8.
  • end parts of the second and the third locking members 5, 6 are displaceably received.
  • the movable second and third locking members 5, 6 comprise rotatably supported sleeves 12 it is the end parts of the shafts 1 1 that are displaceably received in the slits 13.
  • the side portions 8 are U-formed in cross-section in the example, the shanks being turned outwards and the locking members 4, 5, 6 being situated between the webs of the side portions.
  • the described device works in the following way: when the band 2 is to be coupled to the element 1 , the end of the band is threaded in between the locking members 4, 5, 6 in a zigzag path, as indicated in Fig 3. The band end is put in a loop about the second locking member 5 and is then moved back between the locking members. The result is that the two band parts 9 and 10 will run parallel and in contact with each other all the way from the first locking member 4 to the one of the third locking members 6, which is mostly remote from the locking member 4.
  • the band 2 forms a loop about the second locking member 5 in the manner just described on that side of that third locking member 6 which is mostly remote from the first locking member 4.
  • the band 2 may be slackened by feeding the band part 9 back along its path be ⁇ tween and about the different locking members.
  • a low friction is ob ⁇ tained, something which makes tightening and slackening of the band easy.
  • the described device is of course not necessarily limited to the exemplified embodiment.
  • the number of third locking members 6 may be one or more. Also other modifications are well possible within the field of the basic idea of the invention.
