Die bekannte Vorrichtung ist durch die separaten Antriebe für die Klemm¬ backenpaare und die Siegelbackenpaare relativ aufwendig auf¬ gebaut und benötigt einen hohen Platzbedarf. Aus der US 5,369,941 ist es ferner bekannt, Siegelbackenpaare auf gemeinsamen Trägern anzuordnen. Klemmbackenpaare sind jedoch nicht vorgesehen. Das bedeutet, daß die jeweiligen Klemmbackenpaare 33 bis 36 bzw. 133 bis 136 nicht mittels der oben beschriebenen Ver- bindungsStangen 67, 68 zwangsgekoppelt sind. Vielmehr sind die jeweils gegenüber angeordneten Klemmbacken jedes Klemm¬ backenpaares 33, 34; 35, 36; 133, 134; 135, 136 beispiels¬ weise mittels eines Kettentriebes oder mittels Zahnstangen so gekoppelt, daß bei der Bewegung einer mit einem Pneu¬ matikzylinder gekoppelten Klemmbacke zwangsläufig die dem Klemmbackenpaar zugeordnete Gegenbacke zu- oder wegbewegt wird. Mit der beschriebenen Modifikation der Vorrichtung ist es möglich, die Bewegung der Klemmbackenpaare 33 bis 36 un- abhängig von der Bewegung der Klemmbackenpaare 133 bis 136 zu steuern.
