Definitions
- the present invention relates to the means for connecting a flexible container of fluid to an external pipe, the container being formed of a flexible waterproof envelope delimiting at least one sealed compartment, and the external pipe comprising a tube with a container connection hole.
- Flexible containers are used in a wide variety of applications to contain a fluid in a tight, flexible envelope, usually made of plastic.
- the connection of the container to an external pipe is usually carried out by providing, on the flexible envelope of the container, a nozzle integral with the envelope. When the container is intended to initially contain a fluid, the nozzle is closed by a plug or a tear-off seal.
- a disadvantage of such a structure is the relative complexity of the container, which must include a rigid end piece associated with the flexible envelope, and the relative complexity of the implementation for removing the plug or tearing the lid during connection. disadvantage is that asepsis is not ensured, because a risk of bacterial pollution exists when connecting the external pipe to the container.
- the nozzle previously contained in the liquid present in the flexible envelope container comprises a pointed and bevelled warhead end, extended by a cylindrical body and a thrust base.
- the end of a tubular external pipe is applied to the outer face of the casing, and the beveled end piece is forced, which immediately pierces the casing and enters the pipe. It turns out that the seal between the external pipe and the container is not satisfactory.
- the problem proposed by the present invention is thus to design a new structure of the device for connecting a flexible container to an external pipe, preventing any flow of the fluid outside during and after connection of the external pipe to the flexible container.
- Another object of the invention is to limit the risk of pollution of the fluid in the passage between the flexible container and the external pipe.
- the invention provides a device for connecting a flexible container for fluid to an external pipe, the container being formed of a flexible weldable envelope to delimit at least one sealed compartment, the pipe external comprising an axial channel tube with a connection orifice, a rigid tubular endpiece being housed free inside the compartment delimited by the flexible envelope and comprising an elongated axial barrel, one free end is dimensioned to engage in the connection orifice of the external pipe tube and the other end of which is connected to a transverse thrust base;
- the barrel has a frustoconical external surface, with a large base adjacent to the transverse thrust base and a small base forming the free end of the barrel, with a cone angle and a large diameter suitable for ensuring good clamping of the barrel during its introduction into the tube
- the axial channel of the portion of external pipe tube adjacent to the connection orifice has a generally constant internal section.
- the flexible envelope is at least partially transparent, to allow the nozzle to appear from outside the envelope and thus to facilitate handling of the nozzle.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a flexible container - external pipe assembly, comprising a connection device according to the present invention
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a rigid tubular tip according to one embodiment of the invention
- FIG. 3 is a side view in longitudinal section showing the end of the external pipe, a portion of the container with a flexible envelope enclosing a fluid, and the rigid end piece of FIG. 2;
- - Figure 4 is a side view in section showing the connection device according to one embodiment of the invention, in the preparatory connection position;
- - Figure 5 is a side view in section of the connection device of Figure 4, in partial penetration position before drilling;
- FIG. 6 is a sectional side view of the device of Figure 4 at the end of connection;
- FIG. 7 is a perspective view of a rigid tubular end piece according to a preferred embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 8 is a side view in longitudinal section of one rigid tubular nozzle of Figure 7; and Figure 9 illustrates in section a flexible container shell structure according to an embodiment of the invention
- connection device is intended to connect a flexible container 1 to an external pipe 2.
- the container 1 is formed from a flexible envelope 3 which can be welded and sealed, delimiting at least one sealed compartment which can contain a fluid
- one end of the flexible container 1 is limited by an edge 30 defining an inner re-entrant dihedral
- the external pipe 2 comprises a tube 4 with an orifice 5 for connection to the end of an axial channel 50 visible in particular in Figure 3
- an end piece 6, rigid and tubular, is housed free inside the sealed compartment defined by the envelope 3 of the container 1
- the rigid tubular endpiece 6 comprises an elongated axial barrel 7, one free end 72 of which is dimensioned to engage in the orifice 5 for connection of the tube 4 of external pipe 2, and the other end 71 of which is connected to an opposite transverse thrust base 8
- the transverse thrust base 8 is an external contoured disc 9 with a diameter greater than the diameter of the connection orifice 5
- the tubular endpiece 6 has an axial passage 15 passing through
- the axial channel 50 at least in the portion of tube 4 of external pipe which is adjacent to the orifice 5 of connection, has a generally constant internal section, while the barrel 7 of the endpiece 6 has an external surface 10 generally frustoconical, so as to gradually engage in a corner in the axial channel 50 inside the tube 4
- the external surface 10 frustoconical of the barrel 7 is limited by a small base forming the free end 72 of the barrel 7, and by a large base forming the other end 71 adjacent to the transverse thrust base 8
- the outer surface 10 of the barrel 7 has a cone angle A, preferably between 2 ° and 5 ° approximately.
- the length L of the barrel 7 is preferably at least equal to three times the diameter D of its large base 71.
- the surface of the small base forming the free end 72 of the barrel 7 is only slightly less than the cross section of the axial channel 50 of tube 4, and is devoid of any sharp edge or sharp part.
- the disc forming the transverse thrust base 8 comprises two anterior 11 and posterior 12 radial faces generally perpendicular to the axis of the endpiece 6.
- the orifice 5 of the external pipe tube 4 is bordered by an annular facet 13 which is planar generally perpendicular to the axis of the tube 4.
- the container 1 can contain various fluids.
- the container 1 may contain a liquid 14.
- the flexible envelope 3 is at least partially transparent, to reveal the tip 6 from the outside of the envelope 3 and thus to facilitate the handling of said tip 6 .
- the end piece 6 comprises a transverse thrust base 8 in the form of a transverse beam developing radially on either side of the large base 71 of the barrel 7.
- the transverse beam comprises a first half-beam 81 developing radially on one side of the barrel 7, and a second half-beam 82 developing radially on the opposite side of the barrel 7.
- the length of the half-beams 81 and 82 can be appropriately chosen to define a comfortable pushing surface.
- the width of the half-beams 81 and 82 can be reduced, for example only slightly greater than or equal to the diameter of the large base 71 of the barrel 7, as illustrated in FIGS. 7 and 8.
- Such a shape of transverse thrust base 8 facilitates the engagement in a re-entrant dihedral 30 as illustrated in FIG. 1, favoring the complete evacuation of the liquid contained in the container 1 during use.
- the user For the connection of a container 1 to a tube 4 of external pipe, the user proceeds according to the following of the steps illustrated by FIGS. 3 to 6. Initially, the end piece 6 moves freely inside the envelope 3 of container 1. The user can see the nozzle 6 through the transparent envelope 3, or through the transparent part of the casing 3, and can handle the nozzle 6 in the sealed compartment by deformation of the flexible casing 3, to orient it and apply the free end 72 of its barrel 7 against the internal face 16 of an appropriate portion of the flexible envelope 3 of the container 1, as illustrated in FIG. 4
- the user applies the orifice 5 of the tube 4 of external pipe 2 against the external face 17 of said appropriate portion of flexible envelope 3, facing the free end 72 of the end piece 6 While maintaining the tube 4 , the user can then axially press the endpiece 6 outwards, pressing against the rear face 12 of the transverse thrust base 8, so that its free end 72 begins to deform the flexible envelope 3 as illustrated in FIG.
- the front face 11 of the pushing base 8 of nozzle 6 may possibly come to bear on the internal face 16 of the flexible envelope 3, while that the tubular part of the nozzle 6 radially presses the penetrating edges 34 of the casing 3 against the internal face of the tube 4
- the fluid 14 can flow from the container 1 to the tube 4 by crossing the axial channel 15 of the '' tip 6
- a diameter D of large base 71 which, increased by the double thickness of flexible wall 3 forming the protruding edges 34 , or slightly greater than the internal diameter of the axial channel 50 of tube 4.
- An advantage of the invention is that the container can be particularly economical, formed of a flexible envelope 3 whose edges are welded.
- plastic envelopes 3 One can in particular use plastic envelopes 3.
- a significant improvement in the seal between the tube 4 and the container 1 is obtained by using a flexible envelope 3 capable of having a large coefficient of elongation before rupture, while being weldable to constitute at low cost a sealed compartment containing the liquid. .
- a flexible envelope 3 consisting of a bilayer film, as illustrated in FIG. 9, with an outer layer 31 of polyamide secured to an inner layer 32 of polyethylene.
- the inner layer 32 of polyethylene ensures the weldability.
- the outer layer 31 of polyamide provides mechanical resistance by allowing good stretching.
- the bilayer film can advantageously have a thickness E of between 30 and 60 microns approximately.
- connection is suitable in particular for connecting a container 1 previously containing a fluid 14 which it is desired to transfer into the external pipe 2.
- connection device according to the invention also applies to the connection of a container 1 previously empty, which it is desired to fill with a fluid supplied by the external pipe 2.
- a particular application of the connection device according to l he invention is the constitution of a device for animal insemination.
- the flexible container 1 then contains animal semen, and the external line 2 is a probe for artificial insemination of animals such as sows.
