Abstract
The invention relates to an aplliance for preparing liquid baby food directly in a feeding bottle, such as to avoid incomplete mixing and lumpy consistency. This problem is solved by the invention, in which a mixing part (1) is fixable in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of, and inside the bottle (3) at a distance below the neck (10) of the bottle, such as to achieve a mixture of baby food powder and water by manually shaking the bottle (3), which has been closed off either by a teat or by a sealing disc. The invention is mainly used in preparing liquid baby food directly in the feeding bottle.
Description
Shaker for preparation of gruel directly in a gruel bottle.
The present invention relates to an appliance for mixing water and powdered baby food directly, i.e. by shaking a feeding bottle containing these two ingredients such as to produce liquid baby food, hereafter denoted "gruel" .
At present, there are in principle two different methods of preparing gruel for babies. The one is to use a saucepan and whisk the gruel powder together with water, subsequently heating the mixture. The other is to put the powder together with water into the feeding bottle and shake it. In this case the water may have been warmed beforehand, or the mixture warmed in a microwave oven, for example.
Preparing gruel with the use of a saucepan is unnecessarily time-consuming, and is of course accompanied by the need to wash and dry saucepan and whisk. This method also requires access to kitchen equipment, making it very unsuitable for use during journeys and the like.
It is well-known that preparing gruel directly in the bottle results in an imperfect mixture, with lumps of improperly mixed gruel that can lodge in the teat on the bottle, although gruel powder used today iε supposed to contain additives preventing the formation of lumps.
The object of the invention is to simplify procedure in preparing gruel directly in the feeding bottle while im¬ proving consistency of the mixture. The invention con¬ stitutes a solution to the problems mentioned above, and its use is envisaged as a complement to all types of feeding bottles on the market.
Some embodiments of the invention are schematically illu¬ strated on the accompanying drawings, where
Fig. 1 illustrates a mixing appliance, where the mixing part is positionally fixable as the teat retain¬ ing ring is screwed on to the bottle and
Fig. 2,3 respectively illustrate two embodiments for positionally fixing the appliance inside the bottle at a suitable distance from the neck thereof.
As will be seen from Fig. 1, a feeding bottle 3 with its neck 10 contains an inventive mixing appliance comprising a mixing part 1, attached via a shank 5 to a fixing part 2. It is of course possible to have the mixing part l movable along the shank 5 a given amount such as to provide better mixing in special cases. The mixing part 1 in this em¬ bodiment is a perforated disk, but it could also have a whisk-like configuration. The fixing part 2 also functions here as a seal preventing gruel from leaking out of the.per¬ forations in the teat. When the retaining ring 4 of the teat is screwed on to the neck 10 the fixing part 2 is kept securely in position, while the mixing part 1 is also kept in a suitable mixing position with the aid of the shank 5.
With the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 2, the mixing part l is snapped into position between circumferential beads 6 on the inside of the bottle 3, and has the configuration of a perforated disc.
In the embodiment illustrated in Fig. 3, the bottle 3 is in two parts 7 and 8, and the mixing part 1 is fixed between them when they are screwed together.
