Abstract

The tooth-paste composition comprises between 15 and 70 % of abrasive agents, between 0.2 and 4.1 % of foaming agent, between 41 and 80 % of solid sugars and between 0.6 and 6 % of lubricants, and further comprises between 0.05 and 0.2 %, preferably 0.15 %, of fluorine salts, between 1 and 2 %, preferably 1 %, of aromas, between 0.001 and 0.15 %, preferably 0.1 %, of sweeteners, between 0.02 and 1.5 %, preferably 0.3 %, of preservation agents. It provides for the buccal hygiene without having to use any tooth-brush or tooth-paste or dental powder, or water. The cleaning effect of water is obtained through the activation of saliva and the mechanical effect of the brush is obtained by the size of the lumps or granules obtained when breaking the tablet. It does not contain water, and does not absorb easily the environmental moisture, and therefore the germicide activity is optimum. It is easy to use.

Description

DENTYPHICAL COMPOSITION IN THE FORM OF COMPRESSED

The present invention relates to a dentifrice composition presented in the form of a tablet specially designed for use in oral hygiene without using a toothbrush.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Dental toothpaste compositions presented in the form of paste or powder are known, but both ways of presenting the toothpaste require the use of the toothbrush and subsequent mouthwash for the total removal of toothpaste or toothpaste.

As background of the present invention can be cited Canadian patent CA 2031623 which describes a composition of dentifrice powders where the color of the powders is combined with the taste thereof. As regards its composition, said patent uses, among other agents, binding agents such as sorbitol and xylitol which improve the bonding of the particles that form the toothpaste.

This patent refers to a toothpaste presented in powder or tablet form which has been obtained by direct compression.

The tablets obtained by direct compression, that is without prior granulation provide little homogeneity in the weight of the batches obtained. On the other hand, they have little consistency so that when they break in the mouth they disintegrate into particles with a size similar to that of the powder, which inhibits the salivation action of the mouth. Consequently, a brush and water should be used to achieve proper cleaning of the teeth. In addition, said direct compression of the powder Toothpaste entails inconveniences in terms of obtaining pills in perfect condition, that is, without exfoliation or "caping" during compression, and obtaining pills with a final non-homogeneous weight in each of the lots obtained by said procedure .

Therefore, there is still no tablet in the state of the art that dispenses with the brush and the water for cleaning the teeth.

Today, the demands of modern work force people to travel constantly, making meals in places that are far from the usual place of residence.

In these circumstances you may feel the need to perform oral hygiene after each meal, and also get a pleasant feeling of freshness.

Usually, to satisfy this need or desire it is necessary to have a toothbrush and a toothpaste or toothpaste.

Although these elements exist in the market in a multitude of shapes and sizes, it is always cumbersome to have to take them with you and it can also be annoying to have to anticipate their use every time you have to travel.

These problems persist even if you can have folding toothbrushes that take up little space and small toothpaste tubes.

In the case of not having the toothbrush and toothpaste or toothpaste, it is not always easy to find an open trade at any time of the day where you can acquire these elements.

On the other hand it should be noted that to perform oral hygiene with the known elements it is necessary to use water which in many cases is not possible. On the contrary, the tablet-shaped composition of the present invention does not require rinsing. final, although this is preferable.

DESCRIPTIVE MEMORY

With the following invention, the said drawbacks are resolved, providing other advantages that will be described.

The dentifrice composition in tablet form, object of the present invention, comprises: an abrasive agent between 15 and 70%, a foaming agent between 0.2 and 4.1%, solid sugars between 41 and 80%, and lubricants between 0 , 6 and 6%.

According to the invention, an abrasive agent is understood as a phosphate or an alkaline earth carbonate, the alkaline earth phosphate being anhydrous dicalcium phosphate, dihydrated phosphate, sodium polyphosphates or mixtures of the foregoing and 30% by weight being present in a preferred embodiment of the invention.

By foaming agent is meant an anionic, cationic, amphoteric or non-ionic surfactant preferably present in 1%, for example sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium lauryl sulphosarcosinate. The sodium lauryl sulphosarcosinate used in the present invention has the advantage of acting both as a foaming agent and as an abrasive agent. The solid sugars described include mannitol or sorbitol powder preferably present in 60% by weight, and the lubricants include talc or an alkaline earth stearate present in 3% by weight.

The large amount of sugars used, unlike the prior art, allows activating the salivation of the mouth thereby favoring the dissolution of the tablet or of the portions or granules obtained when said tablet is broken in the mouth.

In this way, the water cleaning effect is obtained by activating saliva and the effect Mechanical brush is achieved by measuring the portions or granules obtained when the tablet is broken.

The present dentifrice composition, presented in the form of a tablet, thus allows oral hygiene to be performed without the toothbrush and toothpaste or toothpaste currently used, as well as water.

In addition, obtaining a toothpaste in the form of a tablet entails a series of technical and utilization advantages that will be described below. In the first place, it is clear that the use of a tablet to perform oral hygiene is much more comfortable and in turn requires fewer conditions inherent in its purpose. Presenting a toothpaste in tablet form provides easy handling. The tablet is a compact unit and not broken down as is the case with tooth dust. In addition the same amount of toothpaste occupies less space in tablet than in powder.

Secondly, the mechanical action of crushing the tablet, by chewing it, facilitates the disintegration of the tablet without the need for it to contain disintegrants.

Thirdly, the highest presence of sweeteners, sugars, stimulates salivation by means of which a total dissolution of the dentifrice is achieved, which contributes to it easily and quickly reaching all interdental spaces.

Preferably, the composition of the invention does not contain water, nor does it easily absorb ambient humidity, whereby the germicidal action is optimal. In the case, unlikely, that moisture absorbed its content in adjuvants (parahydroxybenzoates, sorbic acid, etc.) guarantees its stability.

As is known, emulsifying or foaming agents in aqueous medium inhibit germicidal action. Therefore the water found in the compositions Dentifrice decreases the germicidal action of the toothpaste.

In addition, germicidal agents in the presence of water can be presented in an ionic form, and it is known that any germicide in an ionic form decreases its effectiveness, even substantially inhibiting it over time.

Therefore, the water found in the dentifrice compositions (either in the composition of the paste itself or due to the environmental humidity in which they are presented in powder form) decreases the germicidal action of the toothpaste.

Said effect disappears with the tablet-shaped composition of the following invention.

In order to keep the mouth clean for a longer time, the dentifrice composition of the invention comprises germicidal agents such as triclosan, bromochlorophenol or chlorhexidine, components, which even at very low concentrations inhibit the proliferation of the microorganisms that form the plaque bacterial, in addition to providing long-acting antiseptic action.

The dentifrice composition according to the present invention further comprises fluorine salts to protect dental plaque between 0.05 and 0.2%, preferably 0.15%, such as sodium fluoride and sodium monofluor phosphate; aromas between 1 and 2%, preferably fruity and menthol aromas present in 1% to give a pleasant smell; sweeteners between 0.001 and 0.15%, preferably saccharin present in 0.1% to flavor the tablet and preservatives between 0.02 and 1.5%, preferably 0.3%, such as for example sorbic acid and parahydroxybenzoates.

The content of hypoglycemic sugars is substantially higher than the dentifrices known so far. This substantially higher amount has the function of activating the salivation of the mouth and thus facilitating the dissolution of the tablet in the same.

As is known, saliva is an antiseptic that increases the effectiveness of any active substance soluble in it. Being antiseptic, saliva acts as a natural defense of the oral cavity.

With the present invention a dentifrice tablet is obtained which has the advantage that when the mouth is broken by the action of the teeth, the salivation action is not inhibited. On the other hand, the abrasive efficiency of the tablet is greater than that of the powder, without ever damaging the tooth enamel or gums, so it can be used with a good result without the need of the brush. This is due, on the one hand, to the increase of the grain size since the granulometry of the dental powder is between 2 and 20 μ, while the size of the portions of the tablet are much larger and therefore provide a greater abrasive effect. , and on the other hand, the hardness that dicalcium phosphate provides for being anhydrous, that is, free of water. On the contrary, in the presence of water the hardness is inferior since the most stable structure is the hydrated one and this one contributes lower hardness values.

The present invention also provides a method for obtaining a tablet according to the composition described above, characterized by the fact that the process can be performed dry or wet.

When performed dry, the following steps are carried out: the components of the composition are mixed by the dilution method; a first compaction is performed; the tablet obtained is granulated dry; and finally a second compaction is carried out which allows obtaining the tablet of the invention.

If done wet, first, the components of the composition are mixed using the same method of dilutions; the powder moistened with a binder solution is wet granulated in a granulator or the like; It is dried in a static or fluid bed stove, and finally, it is compacted. When chewing the tablet obtained according to said procedure, small portions, granules, with a size larger than those of the dental powder are obtained because, on the one hand, the tablet of the present invention does not contain disintegrants and, on the other, due to the double compression performed in the procedure for obtaining it. Such granules take longer to melt in the mouth, thereby achieving that the disinfectant and abrasive action is prolonged for longer.

On the other hand, the prior wet or dry granulation technique allows batches of tablets with a homogeneous final weight and with the desired hardness to be obtained.

A preferred embodiment of the invention consists in presenting the colored or colorless tablets.

According to the present invention, the following advantages can be highlighted.

Ease of use With the tablet you can perform oral hygiene in any circumstance.

Administration of the appropriate dose. The fact of using the tablet object of the invention for oral hygiene ensures an adequate dosage since this does not depend on the user.

EXAMPLES OF THE INVENTION

The following examples describe the steps that must be followed for the manufacture of the tablet. EXAMPLE 1

This example was based on the procedure widely known as dry granulation prior granulation.

Claims

1. Tablet-shaped dentifrice composition characterized by the fact that it comprises an abrasive agent between 15 and 70%, a foaming agent between 0.2 and 4.1%, solid sugars between 41 and 80%, and lubricants between 0, 6 and 6%.

2. Dentifrice composition according to claim 1, characterized in that it further comprises fluorine salts between 0.05 and 0.2%, preferably 0.15%.

3. Dentifrice composition according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the fluorine salt is sodium fluoride or sodium monofluoride phosphate.

4. Dentifrice composition according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it also comprises aromas between 1 and 2%, preferably 1%.

5. Dentifrice composition according to claim 4, characterized in that the aromas are fruity or menthol.

6. Dentifrice composition according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it further comprises sweeteners between 0.001 and 0.15%, preferably 0.1%.

7. Dentifrice composition according to claim 6, characterized in that the sweetener is saccharin.

8. Dentifrice composition according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it also comprises preservatives between 0.02 and 1.5%, preferably 0.3%.

9. Dentifrice composition according to claim 8, characterized in that the preservative is parahydroxybenzoate or sorbic acid.

17. Dentifrice composition according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the lubricant is talc or alkaline earth stearate.

18. Dentifrice composition according to claim 17, characterized in that the lubricant is present in 3%.

19. Dentifrice composition according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the tablet is colored or colorless.

20. Dentifrice composition according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the germicidal agents comprise triclosan, Bromochlorophenol or Chlorhexidine.

21. Method for obtaining the tablet according to the composition of any of claims 1-20, characterized in that: (i) the components of the composition are mixed by the dilution method, by dry route;

(ii) a first compaction is performed; (iii) the tablet obtained from step (ii) is granulated dry; and (iv) a second compaction is performed.

22. Procedure for obtaining the tablet according to the composition of any of claims 1-20, characterized in that:

(i) the components of the composition are mixed by the dilution method, wet;

(ii) the powder is wetted with a binder solution;

(iii) it is wet granulated in a granulator;

(iv) dried in a static or fluid bed stove; Y

(v) the compaction is carried out.

23. Use of the tablet according to the composition of any of the preceding claims for cleaning the teeth regardless of toothbrush and water.
