Definitions

  • the invention relates to a toothbrush with a bristle holder receiving the bristle field and a handle attached to it, made from a hard, compact plastic component that has the required strength properties, the brush base having at least one recess in the area of the handle. which is at least largely filled with a softer, elastically deformable plastic component.
  • a so-called brush base body is injection molded from a first, compact plastic, in particular polypropylene, which has the required strength properties.
  • This plastic is generally colored in a muted manner, since polypropylene is a partially crystalline material which is natural in color and therefore not transparent, but only translucent.

Due to the plastic used, the hardness of the injected plastic component is generally in the range between 60 and 90 Shore A. This, but relatively high hardness improves the grip of a toothbrush, but is still often regarded as unsatisfactory . In order to noticeably improve this grip, it is known to provide the outer area of the softer, elastically deformable plastic component with small, nub-like projections which can be deformed better due to their small cross-section.

Due to the recesses in the second form, in which the second, soft plastic component is also injected, elevations 10 are formed above the recesses 6 and 9, which are clearly visible in the drawing.
