Abstract

A light box characterised in that it consists of two physically separate portions (4 and 5) designed to interact when mounted in mutually aligned positions on either side of a window (1).

Description

LIGHT BOX

The present invention relates to a light box of the kind used, for example, to display a poster or an advertising message.

In the current state of the art, a light box is in the form of a box containing a light source arranged behind a translucent plate, forming a diffuser, on which is fixed the poster, or the advertising message, referred to below. after "the view".

These boxes are generally set up at traders, by people specialized in this form of information distribution.

The box is generally fixed against the internal face of the shop window. This fixing is not a problem.

On the other hand, it is not the same with regard to changing the view since, in this case, the manager must enter the premises or the shop with all the disadvantages that this presents both for the merchant and for the manager.

The present invention, which overcomes these drawbacks, is remarkable in that the box is produced in two physically distinct parts, capable of cooperating with each other when these are fixed against a display case.

The first part contains the light source and is fixed on the internal face of the showcase, while the second part, which includes means for maintaining the view, is fixed on the external face of the showcase and opposite the first one.

In this way, it is possible to change the view without entering the room delimited by the window.

The present invention will be better understood from the description which follows, given with reference to the accompanying drawing by way of indicative example only, in which: - Figure 1 is a sectional view of a light box according to the invention;

- Figure 2 is the right view of Figure 1 showing an alternative embodiment.

Referring to the drawing, it can be seen that 1 is the window of a room, one side 2 of which is located inside, while the other side 3 is located outside.

According to the invention, the box is produced by the association of two parts 4 and 5 which can be fixed, each, against one of the faces of the display case and opposite.

Part 4 contains the light sources S and is fixed against the face 2 of the display case.

Part 5, which includes means for maintaining sight, is fixed against face 3 of the display case.

Part 4 has a central opening 6 closed by a diffusing plate 7 of a known type.

Part 5 has a central opening 8, the dimensions of which are substantially identical to those of opening 6.

Parts 4 and 5 are arranged so that the openings 6 and 8 substantially coincide.

In the example of FIG. 1, the part 5 provides at its upper part a slot through which the view is introduced.

Although any means can be used to fix the parts 4 and 5 against the display case 1, an advantageous means consists in fixing the two parts with an adhesive material.

FIG. 2 shows an alternative embodiment of part 5 which is constituted by a flat frame 9, providing in its center an opening 10 similar to that 8. The view can be fixed against the frame 9 using magnetic tapes of a known type, forming clips.

According to Figure 2, the view is maintained by four bars 11 each hinging on the corresponding side of the frame. Such a means is known and there is no need to describe it more fully.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown but extends to all variants of shapes and dimensions.

Thus, among other things, the view can be protected from the weather by a transparent plate, not shown.

Thus, again, the two parts 4 and 5 can be held against the display case by means of magnetic means.

According to a variant, part 4 is fixed behind the display case, by any usual means, and part 5 has, for its fixing, magnetic means capable of cooperating with said part 4.

Claims

1 - Light box, characterized in that it is made in two parts (4 and 5), physically distinct, capable of cooperating with each other when the latter are fixed on either side of a window (1) and in coincidence .

2 - Box according to claim 1, characterized in that the part (4) is fixed against the internal face (2) of the display window (1), contains the light sources S and has a central opening (6) located towards said showcase.

3 - Box according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the part (5) is fixed against the external face

(3) of the display window (1), includes means for maintaining a view and has a central opening (8).
