Tampon, insbesondere für die Frauenhygiene, mit einem saugfähigem Kern und einer für Körperflüssigkeiten durchlässigen Hülle (4) um den Kern, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Hülle (4) mit von der Tamponoberfläche abspreizbaren, bevorzugt flexiblen Barriere-Streifen (7, 7', 7") versehen ist, die im aufgespreizten Zustand eine Sperre gegen ein Durchtreten von Flüssigkeit bilden.
