Definitions
- This invention relates to a filter device for filtration of ventilation air in buildings and dust separation in industrial process air, comprising a filter frame and a filter module insertable in the same.
- Known filter devices comprise a filter frame which is made of steel or aluminium and a filter module arranged in the same, which module is made of glass fibre fabric or a synthetical material.
- This type of filter device is not possible to recycle, and therefore, after an exchange of the filter device, having served its time, this one as a rule ends up on a refuse dump.
- This is, of course, not acceptable with the hard requirements on the environment which all activities nowadays are subjected to, and which mean that terms like circulation- thinking and recycling have become of current interest.
- manufacturers of filter devices should be subjected to requirements that the filter devices either should be able to be distracted without influence on the exterial environment or be recycled in a suitable way.
- This invention intends to remove the problem with known technique and to present a filter device which can be destructed in a suitable way within the scope of existing requirements on the environment. This destruction is made by burning up the filter device without influence on the exterial environment or by composting.
- the solution of the problem is a filter device of the kind mentioned by way of introduction which is characterized by the fact that the filter frame is made of a destructable, biological fibre material, and that the filter module comprises a biological filter material, comprising flax and/or cotton and/or wool and which can accordingly be destructed without any obvious influence on the environment.
- Fig 1 shows a filter device according to invention
- Fig 2 shows a filter frame according to invention
- Fig 3, 4 shows a cross-section of two different embodiments of filter frames
- Fig 5 shows a side view of a filter pocket being an integral part of a filter module according to the invention.
- a filter device comprising of a filter frame 1 and a filter module 2, which comprises four filter pockets 3-6.
- the filter frame 1 can have that design shown in fig 2.
- the frame is made of wood, wood fibres and/or wellboard material. Due to that fact the filter frame can be destructed by combustion with only a small influence on the environment, which is within acceptable limits. Alternatively, the filter frame can be destructed by composting.
- This embodiment of the filter frame is provided with three rods 7-9, the purpose of which is partly to give the frame strength, partly to fixate the filter pockets of the filter module.
- the rods are suitably made of the same material as the frame. Of course, the number of rods can vary depending upon the type and the size of the filter.
- the filter module 2 comprises four filter pockets 3-6, which are arranged beside each other.
- a front portion of one filter pocket is put together with a front portion of an adjacent filter pocket.
- Each filter pocket 3-6 comprises two side portions 10, 11, which are sewn together both at the top and at the bottom of the filter pocket. Due to that fact there are formed seams 12 which accordingly close up the pockets.
- the number of filter pockets can of course vary from one and upwards, and they are made of a filter cloth which is normally unrolled on a roll.
- the filter cloth is made of biological fibres and comprises flax and/or cotton and/or wool. Due to that fact a destruction of the filter module after use is made possible by combustion or by composting.
- distance elements are arranged at different places inside of the filter pocket.
- the frame 1 has a plurality of plugs 13, made of wood, the purpose of which is to keep the frame together in those cases when the frame is made in two parts.
- the frame 1 is divided into two frame halves 14, 15, the frame half 14 during the use of the frame comprising the inner half and the frame half 15 accordingly the outer one.
- the inner frame half 14 is provided with a sealing strip 16 for allowing a sealing application of the filter device in that channel where the air shall be purified.
- the outer half 15 of the frame is intended to be fastened together with the inner half 14 by means of wood plugs 13.
- the reason for making the frame in two halves is that the front portion of the filter module 2 shall be fastened between the frame halves 14, 15.
- the filter cloth of the filter module is provided with projections 17 which are intended to be applied and clamped between the frame halves 14, 15.
- a rod 18 is indicated, around which the filter cloth in intended to be laid.
- the device according to fig 4 differs from that one according to fig 3 in that way that the filter module is still better fastened between the frame halves.
- the reason for that is that the projections 17 of the filter cloth between the frame halves at their very front portions are provided with a strip 19 which is intended to be applied in a corresponding groove 20, which is milled out in the frame.
- fig 5 a side view of a filter module.
- the projections 17 for attachment between the frame halves 14, 15 of the frame Furthermore is shown the strip 19 which is applied at the very front portions of the projections 17.
- the distance elements 21 are indicated the distance elements, which are arranged inside of the filter pocket of the filter module.
- An important advantage with the filter device according to the invention is that air particles in a room where the new filter device is used do not become electrically charged as the case should be if a conventional filter comprising a synthetical material should be used.
