The container is characterized by its handling slots which allow the data carriers to be easily inserted and removed and by its secure, no-slip hold of the data carrier. Depending on the size of the standard mailer or envelope used, a container can hold one or more data carriers, which form a unit with the mailing envelope but still leave adequate room to enclose written material or printed papers.

Das Behältnis wird durch doppelte Falzung der beiden äusseren Seiten auf den eingeleimten Steg, der aus Pappe oder Karton oder einem anderen Trägermaterial sein kann, und der je nach Daten- trägergrösse und Grundgrösse ein angepasstes Stauvolumen freilässt, zusammengeführt. Der Abstand der beiden paral¬ lelen Falzungen entspricht dem Aufnahmevolumen der Daten¬ träger und deren Dicke und wird gegeben durch die standardi¬ sierten Normdicken gemass- gebräuchlichen Postverkehrsusan- zen und - normen. Das Stauvolumen und das umschlossene Volumen des Datenträgers bilden das Gesamtvolumen das eigentlichen Briefumschlages oder des Versandetuis.
