  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS As used herein, the term “arresting" abnormal hair loss means preventing or inhibiting excess hair loss. "Strengthening" hair means changing the hair in such a way that the hair appears thicker, heavier and fuller.
  • “Promoting” hair growth means increasing new hair growth. "Lifting” the hair from the scalp makes hair look thicker. "Body” means the hair feels thicker. Hair can have body, i.e. feel thicker, but will not look thicker if the hair remains flat to the head and is not lifted off the scalp. "Setting” contemplates all the operations commonly employed to style hair and includes curling, waving, arranging and the like.
  • the invention comprises a scalp treatment composition for topical application for use with a hair treatment concentrate.

  • the estrone is dissolved in small increments of isopropyl myristate with the aid of heat. Those skilled in the art of formulating cosmetics will understand the preparation of this formulation.
  • the scalp treatment composition is applied sparingly to the scalp. A small amount, e.g., at least about 0.1 ml, of the scalp treatment composition is applied to the scalp by any method satisfactory to topically apply the composition to the scalp.
