Definitions
- the purpose of the present invention patent application is to have a two-piece cartridge cushion with pneumatic cushioning, which has notable advantages and innovations compared to the current cues used in the cartridge industry.
- the studs are usually made of a single piece of deformable material, responding to the need to protect the walls of the barrel of the weapon, plummet or copper produced by the successive shots, as well as the improvement of the lead and the total sealing of the gases produced by the combustion of gunpowder.
- Each lead charge needs a block of specific dimensions, that is to say that different plugs are needed for different lead charges, as well as for different cartridge sheath lengths, even though the load is the same.
- the two-piece cartridge block with pneumatic design, object of the present invention consists of two interchangeable parts that are assembled, the container and the damper-seal.
- the container incorporates a series of flippers, as well as a regulating valve of the damping and air injector, presenting both said container and the damper, transverse partitions convex-concave, capable of absorbing radial deformations with respect to the axis of symmetry of the block.
- the shock absorber is of fourfold action, because it supports the flexion and deformation of the material, the friction against the walls and the compression of the contained air.
- the main advantages of the taco for cartridge that is proposed compared to conventional tacos, are the following:
- Figure 1. Shows a sectioned elevational view of an assembly of a practical embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 2. It shows different dihedral views in plan and sectioned elevation of the container.
- Figure 3. Shows respective dihedral views in plan and sectioned elevation of the damper-shutter.
- FIGS 4, 5 and 6.- They show homologous views to the previous figures 1, 2 and 3 according to another alternative embodiment of the invention.
- the container (1) is characterized by adopting an external cylindrical appearance, protruding from its base fins (7) attached thereto by the lower part, while in turn, its walls (3) have holes that serve as accommodation for said fins (7).
- the container (1) has its smooth internal walls with a conical shape open towards the outside. Its bottom or base (4) has a convex truncated conical shape, ending in a circular ring that is the base itself of the container, where, in turn, the interior walls end.
- the container In its lower area, the container has in its outermost part an annular groove that will serve to assemble the damper-seal (8), while in the center it has a concave, conical shape.
- a valve (2) formed by two non-through holes that coincide in a thin membrane (5) of the same material as the base is located in the center of the base or transverse partition that is the bottom (4) thereof. of the container
- the upper orifice of this valve can be cylindrical or prismatic and the lower one truncated or similar, and its dimensions can be as well as the thickness of the membrane, variable, depending on the needs.
- the sealing damper (8) has an external appearance in the form of a vessel with a chamber (6) delimited by walls (9) in the form of bellows or originated by a sinusoidal curve of revolution, with the infle ⁇ tions smoothly rounded.
- This wall (9) rests on a transversal partition (12) that forms the closure or base of the bellows which is convex in its lower part constituted by two truncated conical figures (11) and (13).
- the same partition (12) in its lower part has a concave shape constituted by the two joined conical figures (11) and (13).
- the present invention has tried to improve all the above drawbacks of the current studs. For this, it has been split from a block of two components, they will be manufactured by injection or blowing in plastic or deformable or semi-deformable material.
- the lateral fins When the taco is inserted into the sheath, the lateral fins will be folded into their housing and thus remain until the exit of the block through the mouth of the barrel of the weapon in which they will be deployed to fulfill their mission of stabilization and braking.
- the shock absorber will have flexed and the air contained inside will be slightly compressed (this compression will be predetermined depending on the length that has been given to the bellows of the shock absorber). In this position, the block receives the lead charge on its top, leaving the cartridge ready for use or firing.
- the shock absorber when the shot occurs, the shock absorber will work by bending the material of its walls (bellows) together with the friction that occurs against the walls of the container or the barrel of the weapon.
- the bellows of the shock absorber When the bellows of the shock absorber is completely folded, the convex cone of the base of the shock absorber will push the folded walls against the concave cone of the container partition causing them to deform until they adapt to the shape of the two cones.
- the air contained and compressed in the chamber (6) will have reached sufficient pressure to open the valve (2) by letting out a stream of compressed air that will drive the lead charge recovering part of the energy used in the damping , in useful pulse for shooting.
- this valve is calculated in such a way that it opens upon receiving the extra overpressure of the barrel throttling, not only part of the energy accumulated in the damping will be used to boost the lead load, but also the passage of the block will be facilitated. through the narrowing of the barrel by decreasing its internal resistance to compression. Since the transverse partition wall of the container and the closing partition of the damper are convex-concave, they allow radial contractions to be absorbed with respect to the axis of symmetry of the block, making the passage of the block with the load through the throttle, be smooth and uniform.
- valve (2) can act instantaneously or progressively according to the needs, simply by varying the opening pressure of the valve or the section of the air outlet orifice. By combining this, it can be achieved that the air escapes almost instantaneously or somewhat slower, whereby, the advantage of having the desired final damping will be achieved.
- the fins tend to unfold. This deployment will be facilitated in turn by the air that hits them at very high speed. Once deployed, they not only slow down the block but also stabilize it in its trajectory, making the taco-load separation of lead, as well as fast, smooth and little distorted in the trajectory of the load.
