Abstract

The wooden sea-racket is composed of three wooden parts, of the two usual external parts, common in all ordinary rackets and also of one extra wooden part, made of Swedish wood, and pressed between the two external surfaces. This internal part consists of 11 smaller wooden parts of various sizes stapled together in such a way as to create air-pockets on the upper and central part of it, as described in detail in the specifications of the patent. The above-mentioned air-pockets result in the surface of the racket becoming less hard and inflexible seeing that the shocks coming from the hitting of the ball are less absorbed, due to this vacuum. Furthermore, the wooden sea-racket is more resistant, less tiring and more easily directed, where each player wishes to. The above mentioned advantages do not appear in ordinary rackets, which are constructed by gluing the two external wooden surfaces together.

Description

SPECIFICATION
Wooden sea-rackets The invention is about wooden sea- rackets, containing (between the external wooden surfaces) an extra wooden part, specially
5. constructed as to allow the formation of air-pockets inside the racket, as described below in detail. Wooden sea - rackets have been manufactured many times so far. They are composed of two wooden even surfaces, which are glued together and which do not absorb the socks coming from the hitting of the ball on them (on
10. the rackets), as a result of their completely "hard" surface. Because of this inflexibility: a) they break after being used for only a short while. b) the arm of the player gets tired more easily and c) the ball is not always directed where the players wanted it to.
15. The above - mentioned problems are to be solved by the construction of a racket containing some air-pockets in its interior described in detail as follows.
Brief description of the invention The peculiarity of the wooden sea - racket is that besides the two
20. external w ooden surfaces made of plywood, the material of which all ordinary rackets are made, it is also composed of one extra internal wooden part made of Swedish wood and placed - pressed between the two external parts. This internal part consists of eleven (11) smaller wooden parts of
25. various sizes, stapled together so as to create some air-pockets on the central and upper part of this internal wooden layer, to which are due the below-mentioned advantages. The advantage of this racket is that the addition of the wooden part in between (the third one) contained between the two external surfaces and constructed
30. in such a way as to allow the formation of air- pockets inside the
SUBSTITUTE SHEET rackets. renders the rackets less "hard" in order to absorb to a large extent the shocks resulting from the hitting of the ball on them.
Furthermore, the rackets become in this way more resistant than
5. the ordinary ones (which break quite easily), less tiring to play w ith, and more easily controlled by the players. A detailed drawing of the internal part of the racket (dr.l) is also attached to the other documents, seeing that the two external parts are common in all rackets.
10. In the drawing one can see the 11 wooden parts and the way they are stapled together, so as to allow the formation of air-pockets in the internal part of the racket The parts darkened with pencil indicate the newly-formed air-pockets. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
15. The two external w ooden surfaces of the racket are smooth and even made of plywood and shaped like the ordinary rackets that everybody knows.
The point at w hich this wooden sea-racket excels all of the others is the third internal wooden part made of Swedish w ood and
20. contained between the two external parts. For the construction of this internal part eleven (11) pieces of wood are required, with the following measurements: The wooden pieces numbered 1 and 2 of the present detailed drawing measuring 30,5 cm x 4 cm The w.pieces numbered 3 and 4 measuring 14 cm x 4 cm
25. The w.pieces numbered 5 and 6 measuring 24 cm x 4 cm The w.pieces numbered 7 measuring 24 cm x 4 cm The w.pieces numbered 8, 9, 10 and 11 measuring 16 cm x Z5 cm The thickness of the above - mentioned wooden pieces is 3 mm
SUBSTITUTE SHEET The construction begins by stapling together the wooden parts numbered 1 and 2 from the large sides (30,5). A wooden surface measuring 30,5X8 cm is now formed. The wooden pieces numbered 3 and 4 and measuring 14 cm x 4 cm are stapled together form the
5. large side (14) on the right and left of the wooden surface in order to form a wooden surface in the shape of a T, as described in the attached drawing.
The length of this wooden surface is 16 cm. The pieces numbered 5 and 6 and measuring 24 cm x 4 cm are stapled together form the
10. large side (24 cm), on the right and left of the shaped like a T surface.
The wooden basis formed by pieces n5 and 6, and the basis formed by pieces n.3 and 4 - forming the basis of the horizontal part of the T surface, mentioned in the previous paragraph - are placed on the
15. same straight The wooden piece numbered 7 is stapled together with the upper sides of the woods n.5 and 6 measuring 4 cm each and being 16 cm apart so that a π is formed by pieces n5, 6 and 7 (n.5 and 6 are the perpendicular sides of II and n.7 is the horizontal side of I!).
20. On the newly-formed wooden surface, there is a vacuum in the shape of a parallelogram measuring 10 x 16 cm. The wooden pieces n8, 9, 10 and 11 measuring 2,25 cm x 16 cm are stapled together in this vacuum, on the condition that they are 2 mm apart Those wooden surfaces are stapled together on 5 and 6 surfaces
25. being 2 mm apart in such a way as to allow the formation of the above mentioned air-pockets, which in the drawing appear darkened with the pencil. Then, all three parts of the racket that is to say the two external
30. parts, made of plywood and the third one (internal), the making of which has been previously described in detail, are pressed together
SUBSTITUTE SHEET (glued together) and shaped like the ordinary wooden rackets. Finally, the external wooden handless are glued on All the above - mentioned advantages are due to the air - pockets which are formed in the interior of the racket as described above in the
5. detail.
It must also be stressed that the measurements of the wooden parts of this internal part may be changed (become larger or smaller), provided that the directions are followed, as defined in the present document so as to achieve the necessary air-pockets, which result
10. in the above-mentioned advantases.

Claims

CLAIM
The wooden sea-racket is composed of three parts, the two external made of plywood, which are the usual external parts of all ordinary rackets, and one third internal wooden part, contained between the
5. two external surfaces. That is exactly the novelty of this inventioa
That internal part, made of Swedish wood, consists of 11 smaller wooden pieces of various sizes, as it has been above described in detail. Those 11 smaller parts are stapled together in such a way as to allow the formation of air-pockets on the central and upper part
10. of the internal layer.
