- the fabric obtained is still quite coarse and thus is not fully satisfying for the manufacture of such shirts and blouses, the outward appearance of which is not different from conventional cotton shirts and cotton blouses with comparable wearing comfort.
- the contents of steel fibres can result in a curling tendency of the fabric which may adversely affect the manufacture of clothing articles.
- a textile fabric for a clothing of the aforementioned kind which shows a minimum curling tendency even with a higher degree of yarn fineness and with a shielding effect comparable to that of the known protective fabric is achieved.
- the textile fabric comprises mutually orthogonally crossing warp threads and weft threads, the threads being made of stainless steel fibres and textile fibres blended together and spun into a mixed yarn, the steel fibres measuring 6 to 12 ⁇ m in diameter and constituting a content of 6 to 15 I, preferably 8 to 12 % per weight of the mixed yarn, this is achieved by the threads in warp and/or in weft direction being alternatingly threads with left turns and right turns.

- the steel fibres are exposed on the exterior surface of the threads at as many points as possible and in particular at the crossings of the threads and that a mutual electrical contact exists between the warp and the weft threads at said crossings.
- the textile fibres are preferably combed cotton fibres or viscose fibres which can, however, also be spun into a mixed yarn with one another or can be spun into a mixed yarn with other textile fibres. It is also possible to apply only textile fibres made of synthetics.
