Abstract

A brake line is disclosed, as well as its union with the brake housing (1). In order to master higher braking powers at possibly the same weight and with the same brake dimensions, an increased temperature of the brake fluid must be accommodated. The object of the invention is to insulate as much as possible the brake hose (11) which extends from the master cylinder to the brake housing (1) from high temperatures of the brake fluid. For that purpose, the brake line is provided at the end next to the brake with an intermediate pipe (4) which keeps the brake hose (11) away from the brake housing (1) and which at the same times helps cool the brake fluid. Advantageous developments of the invention concern the union (9) between the pipe section (4) and the brake hose (11), as well as a simple means (10) on the housing (1) for locking the pipe in rotation.

Description

Wärmegeschützter Anschluß einer Bremsleitung an ein BremsengehäuseThermally protected connection of a brake line to a brake housing
The invention relates to a connection of a brake line to a brake housing. When the brake is actuated, a pressure of over 100 bar is often transmitted via such brake lines. At the same time, the brakes can fail completely in the event of irregularities in the brake line. Brake lines must therefore be designed and assembled very carefully so that a total failure of the brake is impossible.
As can be seen from the brake manual (9th edition of Bartsch-Verlag, p. 269, in particular Fig. 4), the brake lines are preferably connected to the housing of a brake via a connecting piece, in particular an annular piece with a hollow screw. The hose line was led to the valve, via which it was then connected directly to the brake housing. Due to the ever increasing performance of the vehicles to be braked and the smaller dimensions of the brakes due to space and weight savings, the brakes have to be applied violently very high temperatures of the brake fluid can be expected. On the other hand, it should be avoided that the brake fluid in the hoses and thus the hose material itself exceeds temperatures of + 100 ° C.
The invention is therefore based on a connection of a brake line to a brake housing of the type resulting from the preamble of claim 1.
The object of the invention is to design a connection such that the temperature of the brake hose consisting of a combination of rubber and textile material is kept as low as possible.
The object is achieved by the combination of features resulting from the characterizing part of claim 1. In principle, the invention therefore consists in not connecting the brake hose directly to the brake housing via a fitting, but instead inserting an intermediate tube which is connected to the brake housing on the one hand and to the brake hose via a connector on the other hand. As a result, the brake hose is a sufficiently long distance and thus also a volume distance from the brake housing, so that the heated brake fluid surrounding the brake piston is not pressed directly into the hose when the braking process is completed. Furthermore, the intermediate tube has a cooling capacity, so that the brake fluid standing in the intermediate tube is pressed into the hose already pre-cooled after the braking process. In order to conduct the brake fluid away from the heated brake housing as directly as possible, the use of the combination of features according to claim 2 is recommended, since here the valve and thus also the intermediate pipe emerge vertically from the brake housing. The use of an intermediate tube also creates other possibilities for preassembly, in that, for example, the intermediate tube attached to the brake housing can be delivered preassembled by the suppliers to the car manufacturer. This also results in simplification options when fastening the tube to the brake housing, for example by pressing, pouring or similar measures.
In order to be able to keep the intermediate tube long with as little space as possible, in a further development of the invention the use of the combination of features according to claim 3 is recommended. The tube is laid here in a second section in an arcuate manner, preferably semicircularly, but also spirally or annularly, whereby care must be taken that the passage surface of the tube is not narrowed by the curvature.
The construction described above still gives the possibility of ensuring that the pipe is secured against rotation relative to the housing. In this case, the use of the features according to claim 4 is particularly recommended. The tube is returned to the vicinity of the brake housing after the cooling section and held there by, for example, a fork-shaped attachment, which provides the tube with sufficient mechanical support, in the vicinity of which the connector to the brake hose can then be arranged.
This auxiliary means holding the tube by means of several blocks, a fork-shaped extension or in another form can be formed in one piece with the housing, for example by being cast on or welded on.
Insofar as it is ensured that the intermediate tube can be detached from the brake housing, the combination of features according to claim 6 is recommended in a further development of the invention, in that the intermediate tube is non-detachably connected to the brake hose via a connector. This can considerably simplify the connection between the hose and the tube and, overall, the brake line can be produced more cheaply.
A particularly advantageous measure for this results from the use of the combination of features according to claim 7. By using the fastening according to claim 8, the manufacture of the brake line can be simplified even more. An additional mounting of the tube in the connector is obtained by the measures according to claim 9.
An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows sections of a brake caliper housing 1 with a threaded bore 2, into which a union screw 3 serves as a fitting for an intermediate tube 4. The cap screw 3 can be used to screw the end of the intermediate tube 4 facing the brake housing 1 by means of the sealing flange 5 in a pressure-tight manner. A first section 6 of the intermediate tube 4 thus emerges perpendicularly from the brake housing 1. This first section 6 merges into a second section 7, which is semicircularly curved and is located at a sufficient distance from the brake housing 1 because of section 6. Due to the semicircular curvature of the section 7, the hose-side end of the intermediate pipe 4 approaches a third curved section 8 of the intermediate pipe 4, which merges into a connector 9.
As indicated in the drawing, the third section 8 lies at least partially between two mutually parallel blocks 10, the spacing of the inner surfaces of which is approximately the same as the outer diameter of the intermediate tube 4. The curved area of the section 8 between the blocks 10 causes the Intermediate tube prevented in all levels that are not parallel to the two blocks 10. The rotations in this plane are in turn prevented by the mounting of the first section 6 of the intermediate tube 4 in the brake housing 1. In addition to the intermediate tube 4, a brake hose 11 protrudes into the connector 9, coming from the opposite side. A sealing sleeve 12 is provided as an additional holder for the brake hose 11 in the connector 9 and for stiffening the brake hose in this area. The stiffening effect of the sealing sleeve 12 makes it possible to crimp the sleeve extension 14 of the connector 9 in the annular region 13 and thus to squeeze the brake hose 11 in this region between the sealing sleeve 12 and the outer beading of the sleeve extension 14.
What is new and important for the invention is that the sealing sleeve 12 is not inserted separately from the intermediate tube 4 into the connector 9, but is integrally formed thereon. The same applies to a collar 15 which projects into a stepped bore of the connector. The collar 15 and thus the intermediate tube 8 is fastened in the connector by means of a shear 17 which lies in a ring on the side surface of the collar 15. However, other non-detachable connections, such as beads, flanges, launches or the like, can also be used.
An additional fastening of the intermediate tube 4 in the connector 9 is provided by an annular caulking 18, with which the end face of the connector 9 facing away from the hose is locked relative to the intermediate tube 4.
