Abstract

Procédé permettant de modifier la forme d'une cornée pour que sa réfraction corresponde aux besoins du patient. Le procédé consiste à utiliser un appareil permettant d'effectuer un kératomileusis in situ, l'appareil comprenant un kératome permettant de découper et d'enlever une section de la cornée, et un élément de positionnement servant à maintenir l'alignement entre un instrument de mise en forme et la cornée, l'instrument de mise en forme (8) présentant une surface inférieure qui peut être mise en contact avec la cornée (2) afin d'appuyer sur la surface exposée de celle-ci en la déformant pour qu'elle prenne une forme aplatie sur toute l'étendue d'une zone optique prédéfinie; à mettre en contact ladite surface inférieure (8) avec la surface de la cornée, et à déformer celle-ci avant de déplacer le kératome en contact avec la cornée, pour qu'il enlève une section prédéterminée de la cornée, afin de créer une surface exposée révisée; et à conserver la section afin de la remettre en place par la suite.
