  • the configuration of the front portion of the upwardly open funnel 9 is immaterial according to the present invention, as long as its size is 5 sufficient to allow access with one hand to the area interiorly within the housing 6 between the upper and lower portions of the drainpipe 4 and 3, respectively.

  • the grid may be substantially planar and of one-piece manufacture with the housing 6 and the remainder of the arrangement according to the present invention, but can also be loose and dismountable for simple cleaning.
  • the grid 10 slopes downwardly from the rear wall 7 and connects at its outer, lower end to the bottom wall of the 1 5 funnel 9. A greater grid area will hereby be obtained, despite the compact outer dimensions.
  • this shut-off valve which, in the closed position, blocks the outlet from the arrangement according to the present invention.
  • this shut-off valve consists of a rotary plate 11 which is rotatably secured in the wall of the outlet portion 1 by means of a rotary shaft 12.
  • This rotary shaft is suitably horizontal and runs along one diameter of the outlet portion 1.
  • the plate 11 is suitably circular in shape in order, with its periphery, to connect to the substantially cylindrically shaped outlet portion 1 and seal against the inner defining surface thereof.
  • the peripheral portion of the plate may be provided with a lip seal which is produced from an at least partly flexible and deformable material which can absorb tolerances and configurational discrepancies in both the plate and the outlet portion.
  • the plate 11 may be floatingly secured in the pivot shaft 12 so that it can, to some degree, move transversely of the outlet portion and thereby adapt to the inner defining surface of the outlet portion 1.
  • the surface cooperating with the periphery of the plate 11 can be provided with beads, projections or the like so that a snap lock is formed.
  • the arrangement according to the present invention is provided with an outlet opening 13 for rainwater. This implies that when the plate 12 is in the position illustrated in Fig. 1 (and hence substantially seals against the inner defining surface of the outlet portion 1 ), water will gather in the upwardly open funnel 9 and also in the housing 6 so that thereby water departs through the outlet opening 13.
  • the upwardly open funnel 9 should be relatively deep, at least one diameter of the drainpipe but preferably more so as thereby to impart sufficient pressure elevation to the water which is collected in the funnel in order to ensure departure of the water.
  • a deep funnel also reduces the risk of splashing. It is also possible to employ, on the upper side of the funnel 9 and around the upper portion 4 of the drainpipe, a sealing lid, with the result that rainwater can rise in the upper portion 4 of the drainpipe and thereby form a relatively high liquid column which imparts a substantially high pressure to the water departing through the outlet opening 13.

  • the design of the closure member 15 and the mouth portion 16 may suitably be at least partly complementary so that sealing surfaces are thereby created.
  • the closure member 15 is accommodated in the mouth portion 16 and seals this so that no water can depart through the outlet opening 13. Furthermore, any possible foreign matter accompanying the rainwater will hereby be prevented from access to the conduit which is connected to the outlet opening 13.
  • the operating arm 14 extends through the grid 10, more precisely through a slot-shaped narrow aperture through the grid.
  • the operating arm 14 and the closure member 15 are accessible for operating the plate 11 through the upwardly open funnel 9 in the same manner as the grid 10 is accessible for cleaning.
  • the above-described embodiment is advantageous as a result of its simple manufacture and operation. However, there is a minor risk that foreign matter accompanying the rainwater may possibly choke the outlet opening 13 when rainwater is to be collected. Consequently, it is assumed in one alternative embodiment according to the present invention that the outlet opening 13 is placed beneath the grid 10 so that thereby the protective function of the grid will also operate for that water which is drawn off via the outlet opening 13.
  • a counterpart to the pipe 17 may suitably be placed on the rear wall 7 of the housing 6 in the region slightly above the plate 11 in the closed position thereof.
  • the plate is provided with an operating arm for its pivotal movement, but in this embodiment, the pivoting takes place in the opposite direction between the open and closed position of the shut-off valve. In this embodiment, that arm which connects the plate 11 and the closure member 15 may be disposed entirely beneath the grid 10.
  • a handle which is disposed exteriorly on the outlet portion 1 and is secured on the shaft 12.
  • the plate covering the grid is pivoted about a horizontal shaft to a position where the grid is freely exposed upwardly.
  • the flap can be approximately vertical but can also be pivoted out at least partly so as to cover the lower defining wall in the funnel 9, so that thereby the outlet opening 13 is screened off from foreign matter.
  • a grid may be provided above the mouth of the pipe 17 so that foreign matter is prevented from penetrating.
  • the closure member 15 is provided with a number of projections which, in the closed position, extend down into apertures in the grid and seal them.

Abstract

Un entonnoir filtrant pour un tuyau d'écoulement (3, 4) comprend un entonnoir (9) qui est connecté par une portion de sortie (1) à la portion inférieure (3) du tuyau d'écoulement, alors que la portion supérieure (4) du tuyau d'écoulement débouche dans ou au-dessus de l'entonnoir (9). L'entonnoir (9) a un grillage incliné obliquement (10) qui est accessible par l'intermédiaire d'une portion (8) de l'entonnoir (9) s'étendant latéralement à l'écart du tuyau d'écoulement. La portion de sortie (1) est pourvue au-dessous du grillage (10) d'une vanne de fermeture (11, 12) et au-dessus de cette dernière on trouve une sortie (13) pour l'eau de pluie. D'une manière appropriée, l'ouverture de sortie (13) a également une vanne de sortie (15, 16) qui est connectée par l'intermédiaire d'un bras (14) à la vanne (11, 12) de la portion de sortie (1) de sorte qu'une vanne est fermée lorsque l'autre est ouverte et vice versa.
