Definitions
- the present invention relates to a cleaning apparatus for roof plates of the kind comprising a bow shaped member equipped with an axis or shaft being mounted transverse oriented at the end of a shaft or a long rod and carrying a rotary brush body having the exterior thereof equipped with radially protruding brush hairs.
- a simple cleaning or scrubbing also including spraying of the roofs with suitable cleaning fluids has not showed itself rather easy to perform, because a comparatively high number of the buildings are covered with roof plates which have contents of asbestos, and the cleaning hereof has according to laws and regulations to include particu ⁇ lar safety measures to be taken to achieve a necessary protection against this material, and this becomes in particular difficult when more extensive cleaning opera ⁇ tions than those of simple sweeping, brushing or light scrubbing and/or of simple wash down with water have to be employed. Due hereto, in practice a cleaning of the roof may be as well costly as time consuming as also difficult to carry out.
- the present invention has as purpose to provide a cleaning apparatus for roof plates by means of which any close contact with the persons performing the cleaning operation is avoided, and by means of which a removal of dirt and of covers of dirt from roof plates of this aforementioned kind fairly easy can be carried out, and by means of which the employed means are limited to those of a simple permitted kind, i.e. when such, possibly asbe ⁇ stos-containing, roof plates are involved only low-contact type of cleaning operations are being performed.
- the solution hereto is oriented towards employing a brush of low-weight type being mounted at the end of a long shaft or rod being able, as held from below, to be kept in position while forming a suitable low angle, i.e.
- a brush comprising a cylindric brush body having the peripheral surface, which is carrying the brush hairs, in the longitudinal direction of the cylindric shape waveshaped configured, and in that the brush body is able to rotate by means of a connected drive means, and in that cleaning fluid through nozzles from above is led towards the brush.
- the provided drive means may be of any kind, i.e. electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc., but, a fairly simple solution hereto is provided through the arranging of a drive motor being driven by means of the water pressure of the water supplied to the spray nozzles, whereby the drive motor is arranged centrally within the rotary arranged brush body, and whereby advantageously more such brush bodies exhibiting differently waveshaped configurations may be provided at the work site, whereby easily performed interchanges of brush bodies are made possible.
- the roof plate cleaning apparatus mounted on a holding member in particular while hereto employing per se known releasable and easily opened fastening means, comprises a correspon ⁇ dingly mainly transverse oriented arranged mountable scrabing member being mounted pointing towards the roof plate to be cleaned, and whereby the scrabing edge which is pointing towards the roof plate exhibits a preferably like the waveshaped configuration of the brush body waveshaped contour of the scrabing edge.
- a particu ⁇ larly easily employed scrabing member along its waveshaped scrabing edge is provided with notches having notch sizes which correspond to the cross sectional shape of holding screws keeping the roof plates in place on the roofs.
- Fig. 1 in the perspective, but somewhat schematical ly, in particular as relating to the brush hairs 11, illustrates an assembled roof plate cleaning apparatus according to the invention
- Fig. 2 shows the roof cleaning apparatus according to Fig. 1, but as viewed from the left hand side
- Fig. 3 shows an embodiment of the roof plate cleaning apparatus approximately as seen from above as shown in Fig. 1, but as compared to the wa ⁇ veshaped configuration being described, sho ⁇ wing a somewhat differently waveshaped con ⁇ figuration of the brush body
- Fig. 4 and 5 show the same as Fig. 2 and 3, but, some of the internally arranged structural elements are shown in dotted line
- Fig. 6 and 7 show an embodiment according to Fig. 2 and 1 comprising a splash guard 23, 26.
- structural elements and members which are similar or perform similar functions carry the same signs of reference.
- inventions for cleaning roof plates according to the invention comprise a cylindric shaped brush body 1 carrying radially oriented brush hairs 11 on the exterior of the brush body.
- a cylindric shaped brush body 1 carrying radially oriented brush hairs 11 on the exterior of the brush body.
- the brush hairs 11 being shown serve to indicate possible areas of the brush body to be employed for carrying brush hairs, whereby the configuration of the brush body is shown as being waveshaped in Fig.s 3 and 5 as to accomodate the waveshaped cross section of the in practice most often employed roof plates which, in particular by means of screws, are kept fastened to a below arranged roof supporting wooden structure which equally well may be of metal or of any other material able to support the roof plates.
- the brush body may be made of any suitable material which, on the other hand, in most respects advantageously most often will be wood.
- the waveshaped configuration is indicated by means of wave peaks IB and wave valleys 1A.
- the brush body 1 is rotary carried by a shaft or axis 5 supported by bearings which at 25A and 25B comprises bearing members 2C and 2D being spanned together such as by means of winged nuts 25F and being positioned at the ends of a bow shaped members 2A, 2B mounted to one end of a hollow shaft or rod 2.
- the shaft or rod 2 does not necessarily have to be hollow, but may be thus shaped and thus able to serve as a supply channel for cleaning fluid as indicated by 2L, namely in that side studs are arranged from which water conduits 4SL and 5SL supply the water to in part nozzles 4, of which four are shown arranged on a hollow transver- sally arranged rod 3 having the nozzles oriented downwards towards the brush body 1 for the spraying of water towards this body and in part to the end portion of the axis or shaft 5 which may be hollow and able to supply wa-ter, if water is the drive means, to a centrally within the brush body l arranged drive motor 7M, as shown in Fig. 5.
- the hollow transversally arranged rod 3 may comprise a stud 4S for the water conduit 4SL and may be carried through carrying rods 3A, 3B by the bow shaped member 2A, 2B. It is easily understood that water in a corresponding manner can be supplied to the nozzles through an inner cavity arranged within the transversally arranged rod or shaft assembly 3A, 3B.
- the splash guard 23 indicates the arranging of a splash guard 23 by means of which for the purpose of increasing the cleaning effectivity the water which is sprayed advantageously becomes directed towards the roof plates to be cleaned.
- the splash guard may comprise a suitably large extension 26 which extension as an alternative as in- dicated by means of three dot-and-dash lines also may comprise a splash guarding of the spacing areas 26A, i.e. in direction towards the scrabing member 6.
- splash guards In conjunction with the splash guard also fixed arranged or as by 27A and 27B indicated as by means of suitable per se known releasable fastening means relea- sably held side splash guards may by way of example be comprised.
