Abstract

Garment band characterized by being malleable along its length, its flexibility and the quality of its fastening system. The band is made by assembling, with the aid of a moulding press, several materials which make up its plasticized malleable structure and form the plastic band. The band consists of a grosgrain tape (a) of appropriate strength adapted to nylon threads moulded with one another into a plastic strip (b) in which slits and notches are provided using a cutting press. A hinged hook riveted to the other end of the grosgrain tape is engaged into said slits and notches, thereby providing a stable fastening system.

Description

MULTI-PURPOSE BAND FOR MODULAR WAIST CLOTHING

DESCRIPTION OF THE PATENT

 Technical problem:

 Observation during the training of a young apprentice apprentice (C. A. P.), of his extreme difficulty in

 obtain the precise measurement of a head circumference, from a strip of coarse grain, commonly eniplyée in headgear and in clothing in general. This headband is not stable once adjusted to the hat according to the measures chosen. Professional activity is the making of

 "Haute-Couture hat", unique pieces on order.

 The object of the present patent project therefore consists in finding a process for treating this strip, used in the

 confection, in order to obtain extremely precise measurements, and a final stability of the product adapted to the hat. The grosgrain band hardly adopting the requested length and clumsily adjusting to the materials specific to each model. The clientele is looking for a quality of fit around the head and therefore wearing comfort, which the "ready to wear" package does not offer. So I am attached to the development of a band whose nature (my first era), the structure (cut and clean making) and the adjustment (essentially over the length) to the size of each client meets this expectation of precision and stability. This custom know-how being the reason for being of the milliner.

 Description of the process and drawings

 The plastic band we propose to make and patent adapts to all clothing models, in this case bare skin (Fig1)

 The completed assembly of materials, composing this product produced by an industrialist, will therefore present as a band adaptable in length (Fig 2), for circular shape.

 The Headband is therefore composed of several materials

 assembled and made up as follows:

Considering this on its outer face, in contact with the tissue (Fig _. 2) (unlike the inner face in contact with the skin) (Fig 3). On the basis of a strip of grosgrain (Fig 4) (lighter in summer) or suede (warmer, soft and comfortable in winter.) We adapt a band of flexible and malleable plastic (Fig _5B ) made from threads nylon, and constituting the very originality of the band model in question Nylon threads (colorless fishing thread type (Fig 5A)

 The adjusted raw materials: grosgrain (Fig 4) and nylon threads (Fig 5A) therefore form the basic product;

 the PLASTIC BAND (Fig 5B). This will be definitively stabilized with the welding press, against fraying of the edges and for finishing the hemmed ends.

 The fastening elements consist of Slots and Notches made at regular space (7mm) along the length of the Plastic Band roll (Fig 6d-6e) cut with the press.

 Because the 2cm wide plastic band is attached

 (press molded) with 2.5 cm wide grosgrain; it remains on each side 2.5mm (Fig 6b-6c) to sew the Band to the hat.

Fig 6d-6e)) we can pass the strip again to the press (fondant) at specific points (Fig 6f) between the slots, in order to consolidate them. Technically speaking, it is probably possible to use only once the melting press, melting or molding press,

 for molding operations, nylon threads and consolidation of the spaces between the slots.

 Finally, the last piece of the headband, a metal HARNESS HOOK (Fig7A) will be located at the inner end of the grosgrain (Fig 3A).

 This Plastic Headband can be made by the factory; either in rolls of several meters (10 to 100) or in cut to specific length, for example 65cm.

 Depending on the product used, the milliner must fix

 differently the hook.

 This Plastic Headband can be made by the factory. If you use the large roller that you cut to the necessary length, you will need to fix the HINGE HOOK

(Fig 7 A) at the inner end of the grosgrain strip (Fig 3a), remembering to make a hem.

 This hook will be RIVETE in FACTORY.

 In the case of pre-cut strips (at 65cm) the hook will be fixed to the press at the factory.

 ADAPTATION of the HEADBAND to the CLOTHING, Skirt,

 Independent belt.

 In the case of the DRESS, the plastic band (Fig 5B) will be fixed inside the waist seams.

 For the Skirt the band will be introduced during the mounting of the belt; if the headband were to be wider, use a grosgrain type ribbon (polyester rinse polyamide and polyester ...) more stiff and resistant. In the case of the independent belt (Fig 10), use the same more resistant grosgrain type ribbon as that used for the Skirt,

the long plastic strip will already be pre-copied, at the factory, fixed hook (Fig 8). Before making, we will give the ends of the strip (Fig 8a) the shapes and desired sizes for the belt.

 The Manufacturing will consist of covering the Plastic Headband on the grosgrain side (Fig 8) of the decorative material

 (Fig 9A) chosen (leather for example.)

 On the other side of the plastic strip, the finishing lining will be adapted (Fig 9b). The set can be glued or welded In order to allow the belt to be attached, its lining should not be covered on the entire first centimeter.

Claims

1 Device to constitute a PLASTIC BAND (Fig 5)

 flexible and malleable adaptable to any function

 clothing of circular or rounded shape,

 characterized by the multiple structure of juxtaposed strips; either a gros-gràin strip (Fig 4) fitted to the press with a slightly narrower plastic strip (Fig 5), itself obtained from nylon threads joined and welded together; the strips are then welded together with the press.

 2 Device according to claim (1), characterized by SLOTS and NOTCHES, with regular spaces cut with the press directly in the mass of the PLASTIC STRIP

 (Fig 6d-e), and intended to receive a hook fixed to the internal end of the strip; the whole constituting the fixing system of the Plastic Headband.

 3 Device according to the preceding claims characterized by the structure of the HOOK, provided with a HINGE (Fig 7A). This riveted to the Band (Fig 3A), exerts a strong pressure when it is closed, on the hook part introduced in the notch made in the band.
