Abstract

Procédé et appareil de transfert successif de volailles abattues, notamment les poulets de chair (4), d'un premier convoyeur suspendu (2) à un second convoyeur suspendu (22). Le transfert s'effectue de manière coordonnée au moyen d'une roue de transfert traditionnelle (18) dans laquelle les pattes des poulets de chair (4) sont fixées temporairement dans des concavités (12) ouvertes vers l'extérieur et ménagées à la périphérie de la roue de transfert (18). Lorsque les poulets de chair (4) sont suspendus et que les extrémités (14) de leurs cuisses sont fixées dans les concavités (12) ouvertes de la roue de transfert (18), ils sont serrés de préférence de l'extérieur, c'eat-à-dire de préférence par derrière, et sont portés vers l'intérieur et vers le haut sous la roue de transfert (18) de telle manière que les cuisses se déplacent vers le haut et vers l'extérieur dans les concavités (12) de la roue de transfert (18) et dans un rail arqué de guidage (56). Ainsi, lesdites extrémités (14) de leurs cuisses sont guidées de sorte qu'elles passent entre les étriers (24) de l'autre convoyeur suspendu (22), et que le serrage des poulets de chair (4) soit relâché lorsque l'extrémité du rail de guidage (56) est atteinte. Ensuite, les carcasses des poulets de chair peuvent redescendre, c'est-à-dire que les parties supérieures de leurs cuisses se déplacent vers le bas et que lesdites extrémités (14) des cuisses sont fixées dans les étriers (24) de l'autre convoyeur suspendu (22).
