Abstract

Bildvorlagencodierung beispielsweise für Telefax und Farbfernsehen. Bei der vorliegenden Erfindung geht es um eine Verkürzung der Übertragungszeit, insbesonders bei einer zahlen- oder ziffernmässigen Lauflängencodierung für schwarz und weiss. Dies erfolgt in der Weise, indem für weiss und schwarz dieselben Codewörter auch für unterschliedliche Zahlen bzw. Ziffern vorgesehen werden. Als Unterscheidungskriterium wird dabei die Abgriffsfolge von weiss und schwarz verwendet. Eine weitere Zeitverkürzung ist bei der Codierung von mehreren in der Folge vorkommenden weissen Zeilen in der Weise möglich, indem vor- oder nach dem Codewort für die weisse Zeile die codierte Anzahl der weissen Zeilen vorgesehen wird. Bei der Graucodierung wird durch Unterteilung der Stufen bzw. der binären Codewörter, ggf. mit gewollter Redundanz, eine Verkürzung der Übertragungszeit insbesondere dadurch erreicht, weil dadurch sehr viel Zeichen in der Folge vorkommen, die dann wie die weissen Zeilen übertragen werden. Bei der Farbbildübertragung wird zusätzlich durch eine codemultiplexe Codierung und ggf. einer Übertragung auf QAM-Basis, wobei die PAM-codierte Information zusätzlich eine Gleichstromvorspannung erhält, eine Zeitverkürzung für die Übertragung erreicht. Der Summenwechselstrom bewegt sich dadurch nur im Bereich von 90°.
