Abstract

Une compresse thermique (10) servant à traiter un genou blessé comprend une chambre imperméable aux fluides composée d'un matériau souple et pourvue d'une partie transversale supérieure (12) et de branches retombantes (13, 14) s'étendant de la partie transversale (12). La partie transversale (12) est conçue pour entourer une partie de la jambe au-dessus du genou et les branches retombantes (13, 14) sont conçues pour envelopper la jambe le long des côtés du genou et une partie de la jambe au-dessous du genou tout en exposant la rotule. La chambre est conçue pour recevoir et contenir un fluide thermique, lequel doit entrer en contact étroit avec la partie enveloppée du membre. Une pompe manuelle (58) sert à pressuriser le compartiment externe afin de pousser le compartiment interne, contenant le fluide thermique, contre les zones du membre qui doivent être traitées.
