Abstract

Des systèmes et procédés à interpolation, à prédiction et à modes multiples pour des séquences vidéo entrelacées utilisent des trames paires passées ainsi que des trames impaires actuelles passées en vue de coder des trames paires. Des unités d'assortiment de blocs (40, 42, 44) trouvent pour chaque bloc de pixels d'une trame paire actuelle à coder le bloc correspondant qui lui correspond le plus étroitement dans la trame impaire actuelle, la trame impaire passée et une trame paire passée et calculent les vecteurs de mouvement appropriés correspondant aux blocs les mieux assortis. Sur la base des blocs les mieux assortis et des moyennes desdits blocs, le générateur de meilleur mode (60) sélectionne un bloc de meilleur mode qui s'assortit le plus étroitement au bloc à coder et déduit un bloc d'erreurs représentant le pixel par les différences de pixel entre le bloc à coder et le bloc de meilleur mode. Des signaux représentant le bloc d'erreurs, le mode choisi et les vecteurs de mouvement correspondant sont alors envoyés pour être transmis en vue d'être utilisés par un décodeur.
