  • the driven gear 34 has a continuous axial aperture 39 of hexagonal shape to accommodate a nut, and it is closely rotatable in a bore 40 while restrained against axial movement by a lip 41 of the body portion 36 and the apertured cover plate 31.
  • Fig. 1 In use, the parts are assembled as described to form the complete tool shown in Fig. 1, and this may be used as apparent from Figs. 5 and 6 which show the crankcase 4 ' 2 " and engine cylinders 43, each containing a piston, one of which is shown at 44 in Fig. 6. Nuts 45 are used on numerous threaded fasteners 46, locknuts 47 also being shown. Fig. 6 shows a nut being removed, and it will be noted that the nut-engagement assembly 13 is very compact for use in restricted ⁇ areas.

Abstract

On présente un outil de serrage d'écrous du type à arbre rotatif (10) adapté pour être entraîné par rotation à l'une de ses extrémités (11) et possédant à l'autre extrémité (12) un dispositif destiné à saisir les écrous (13). Ce montage (13) comprend un premier engrenage (33) entraîné en rotation par l'arbre (10), et un deuxième engrenage (34) entraîné en rotation par le premier engrenage (33) et possédant une ouverture ou un évidement (39) dans lequel vient se loger l'écrou devant être entraîné en rotation, le deuxième engrenage (34) étant décalé par rapport à l'arbre (10) pour faciliter la localisation visuelle de celui-ci par rapport audit écrou. L'ouverture (39) est de préférence continue comme pour une clé à ÷il, de telle sorte que la saisie de l'écrou par le deuxième engrenage (34) soit visible dans le sens de la longueur de l'arbre (10). Ce dernier est de préférence rotatif à l'intérieur d'une gaine (19) se prolongeant depuis le montage de saisie d'écrous (13) vers un boîtier adaptateur (27) de telle sorte que l'arbre (10) puisse être relié par entraînement mais de façon amovible à une source d'énergie motrice telle qu'une perceuse à main (21).
