Abstract

Un capteur de courant thermo-optique comprend un élément de détection résistif ou semi-conducteur, ayant une propriété optique variant en fonction de la température. Le courant à mesurer passe dans l'élément de détection, provoquant ainsi un chauffage détecté par un changement de la propriété optique. L'élément de détection peut être une matière soit résistive soit semi-conductrice en contact thermique avec un capteur optique de température. On peut utiliser le capteur thermo-optique de courant en tant que compteur de champ afin de mesurer l'intensité d'un champ électromagnétique, ou en tant que compteur de courant afin de mesurer le courant passant dans une ligne de grande intensité.
